could i drop a 240sx 4 inches all around without breaking anything? im getting coilovers in the mail soon and was wondering what else i need to strengthen or replace to make sure i can drop the car the 4 inches safly. i will prolly drop it 2 inches then see if its safe to go the other 2.. i heard 4 inch drop could break a stabilier, i figure the camber could be an issue. anyone know if i can go that low? any one that can speak from experiance would be most apreciated.

honestly, I'd doubt it.

I'm using H&R sports, which dropped me approx 1.3"...and honestly, I *could* go another 1-1.5 before worrying about not being able to drive...but even then, I'd be driving like a dropped civic. good for show, bad for go.

I'd also doubt you'll find anyone with experience....I've never heard of anyone dropping a 240 that low.

have you found springs that'll let you go that low? please please don't say you're gonna cut your springs.

if you want it that low for an auto show, I'd suggest taking the wheels off at the show, and lay them either against the body, or on the groud...and putting the car "tastefully" on jacks. make it look like it's sitting that low...nobody would even think about it. just make sure you have some really really nice underbody work, and nice shiny suspension stuff.

or airsuspension.....but how does that ride? honestly, I've never been in a car with that on.

but honestly...if I was thinking about dropping it for shows...I'd just get some really really nice suspension..enjoy it while I drive...then taking the wheels off at the show, and "dropping" it on jacks...while hiding the jacks...maybe do the "cloud" effect...of just simple carpet.

hehe...now come on muzzy...I think if it's intended for shows..it'd be fine and dandy...but I don't think it'd be fun to drive at all...in fact, I'd truly question the drivability.

lol...yea that was a bit excessive..but u gotta admit..it was damn funny:D

drive ability is 0% im runnin stock SE rims wit 205/60s i gota 2 inch gap left on Tein S.techs which dont even drop 2"...so if u went 2" more my tires would be rubbin. if i corner my fronts might stop spinnin if it were dropped that low...hills, speed pumps, dips in road, the street period...u couldnt drive at all.

this has gotta be 4 show..if it is..air suspension...or nothin at all but some tiny jacks

no point in dropping that low for daily driving. just get rid of the wheel gap.

all you will get with a 4'' drop is: 'vroom' 'scrape' 'vroom' 'screreeeeepp' 'vroom' 'sckreeechh'

and the bottom of your car might spark from the chasity hitting the floor. your bumper and sides would be sanded down.

yeah I know...I've thought about getting lower/stiffer springs....but honestly, I hit my exhuast on stuff as it is now..I can't imagine being dropped 4".....even 3". lol

what would your ground clearance be like 1 inch you would get stuck going over speed bumps go with airbags if you need that much drop and good luck with it your suspension geometry is going to suck

i rode and have driven a civic with a 4inch or more drop. really really low. only thing i can say is that was one unhappy car. it was like BOUNCE BOUNCE scrap.
