$1500 takes the pot of ...wine-color. you want this more than I need it.

so here we have it, my 1991 240sx is up for sale. I bought it from my best friend's dad a little over two years ago. At the time it was bone-stock, slightly depraved, and had 140k miles on it. My one dream was to swap a five speed in it and over time build it up. Over the summer of '09 the transmission died and I thought YES a good excuse to swap, but due to a tight budget and a failed parts sourcing, I had a second automatic transmission put in  it drove lovely through the winter and then again this summer the SECOND stupid transmission breaks down. I have had it diagnosed and the cause of stuckinneutral syndrome seems to be a broken transmission oil pump. upon further diagnosis (because that's all that I can do now), I checked out the differential and the fluids were watery and rusty. My bet is that the differential vent on top got water in it over time and the vent hose broke off, then while getting rusty it added more and more friction against the transmission and PROBABLY caused the first one to blow too. finishing up the descriptive BAD section, the driver's side was sideswiped from a hit and run  there was no colored paint so I am guessing it was a box truck or something that didn't see the teeny 240. I've done everything I can to fix it, replaced the mirror and the sidemarkers. The last of it, none of the frame is ROTTED but some is rusty. The ugliest piece is on the passenger side behind the rear wheel, eroded a little more than an inch. This car has been given the TLC that it needed when I came across it. My next project was going to be installing the Hyperflex master bushing set to get rid of what slop is left in the suspension. The engine still runs strong. I have never had any engine mechanical problems or even symptoms in the entire 40,000 miles I have ran it. oh, to clarify the car's got 180,655 miles on it. My true reason for selling is that my grandma's been helping fund this car all along the way while I've paid for insurance, gas, and cigarettes. She has already told me that she will not help to fix the same thing twice, and I don't have the money myself to fix it. So I bought an 02 spec v before I knew of the plaguing catalytic convertor decintegrating into the engine. I bought it from a dealership and it died two days after I drove it off the lot. No lie, three days after I drove it off the lot the dealership got shut down by the DMV and the DMV won't refund the money paid for it so I am now stuck with two dead cars and now driving a $100 95 5 speed maxima with 290,000 miles on it and I'm trying to recover a little bit. As soon as I can, I'm hoping to slip into another 240, hopefully a 98 with the 5 speed already there :-D

My name's Jon and I live in Hope Valley, RI. the 240's in West Greenwich and anybody can see it whenever, just get in touch with me. my phone number's 401-465-9039.

I'm asking $1500 or your best offer! I am open to any type of trade and will entertain any offer so don't be shy!

I'd really like to sell it as a whole car so I won't go through a part-by-part sale fiasco. Again all that it will need to be back on the road is a transmission fix/swap and I would strongly reccommend getting the differential replaced. Thank you all for looking!

p.s. these pictures are from the middle of this summer when the car was in its absolute prime. hmmmph I'll get some new pictures of it as soon as I can get a friend with a camera up to the car, broken camera phone.
