my wife just picked this up for me so i can play it when i get back to the states. Fallout 3 was awesome even w/ the glitches, so I'm definetely game for new vegas.
New customizable weapons and new VATS actions. I can't wait ^_^

Glitches are horrible, even after the patches released.
Personally I think it's so-so.
Got a little bored after playing it to lvl 8 or so.

Also a bit harder to creep up on ppl & snipe them
The dynamics of the fighting system certainly has a learning curve to it.

the freeze ups are killing me though. you have make yourself save all the time.

It's very choppy on my garbage pc laptop, and I'm struggling with medium quality settings.
(Intel Duo 2.something ghz, 6gig ram, Nvida vid card w/ 1 gig ddr3 ram, Vista OS).
Also downloaded the game via Steam, and supposedly some bugs might be related to that idk.
Original Fallout 3 ran a lot smoother.

Whether this is due to bugs or it's just more demanding, I can't say.
If you're not in a hurry, I'd say just wait till the bugs work itself out.
Better yet wait till the 'gold edition' w/ with all the tentative dlc's are released.

Going to install it on my desktop, (with better parts than the lame laptop) when I have the time & initiative.

Crashed out during the first loading screen after the intro. Just updated video card drivers and reinstalling the game. I really hope this works.

man i just started playing oblivion a few weeks ago with alot of mods, i think i like the settings of that game better than fallout. I played fallout3 last year and logged alot of hours til completion. The whole post nuclear lands just arent really pretty imo compared to the lands in oblivion.

But i think Fallout > boarderlands any day.

i have no issue freezing or major choppyness on the PC. everything is on max settings. so, definetly get it for PC.

i had same freeze playing Fo3 on PS3. i knew ps3 can't handle it.

plus PC graphics waaaaaaay better. the only thing bothers me is signing up to steam, thanks to pirates but, its not a problem.

I've heard that a lot of people were having problems with the ps3 version. I have it for the 360 and haven't had any problems yet but so far it's pretty good

I spent alot of time on Fallout 3 with all the side shit and DLC's which I got for free. Kinda bums me out this is more or less the same game with a new (albeit similar) environment.

they got tons of graphics mods for oblivion and its freaking crazy.. i tried playing it last year but didnt like it, then i gave it a 2nd chance 2 weeks ago with tons of mods and i think its awesome. I got some adult mods on it too btw lol

I need some help. Now when I try to lockpick or snipe someone, a blank screen pops up so I can't see my lockpicking. The screen blocking me goes away when I exit out of lockpicking. BTW this is for new vegas for 360

I have it on the PS3.

Haven't played it much yet since I'm getting my last two trophies for Medal of Honor before I return it for Black Ops.

A patch just came out, haven't tried it yet, but apparently it should help with the freezing and some other stuff.

Before the patch, I read turning off the auto-save function will LOWER the chance of it freezing and a lot of people have tried that and have gotten good results in a lower freezing rate.

I also went to a midnight release and got my copy signed and got a poster that was signed too by some of the creators.

The game ONLY works for me when I reinstall my video card drivers everytime my computer is shut down. This is going to get old really fast. At least I can sorta play it.

Has anybody had experience with Steam customer service? I want my money back
Edit: looked up the refund policy, they don't offer refunds for purchases made online. but I'll give it a shot later, because seriously this is pretty unacceptable.

You might want to check out some of the steam forums for troubleshooting.
(assuming you haven't done so already).
It's helped me out with several prior issues.

Bethseda really screwed this one up terribly imo.
Can't really blame Steam either, b/c they damn well knew it would be sold there.

turn it on hardcore mode then. u have to drink eat, stim packs don't cure crippled limbs.

just beat the game, doing all the side missions now.

Fallout 3 plays a lot better on PC and I wouldn't think it was different for New Vegas. I'm waiting for the goty edition or some other pack so I can get the DLC's with the game.

I loved playing that on my xbox when it first came out. Had some pretty sweet gear and ended up spanking the boss.

I'm trying to play F3 on my laptop but I can't even get past my bday party, shit keeps freezing. I know my computer can handle it, and I did the update patch, so I dunno what the problem is. WACK.

if you want the baddest gun in the game (not talking about the archimedes II), get the wild west perk in begin (which i didn't do, oh well).

Im playing on Xbox360. Love the game to fucking death. but now im having all sorts of problems. and ill list whats going on

-sometimes when im picking locks the screen is completely black and i cant see what im doing.

-i recently put a laser sight on my 9mm pistol, now the entire screen is tinted pink and my gun isn't visible.

-i randomly run past random people floating in mid air.

-my companion will randomly shoot innocent people if enemy's are in the area causing towns/factions to hate me as a result.

-my game has come to an end halfway through the game due to the fact that when i try to load my game data it says "downloaded content is no longer available and some items will no longer be accessible" then it gives me a choice to load anyway, but then it refuses to load my saved data (Both manually saved and auto-saved data)

-also with the perk "Mysterious Stranger" (Where a guy with a .44 magnum will sometimes appear and help kill your current target when your shooting someone with V.A.T.S.) will cause my game to freeze up. (With his theme music still playing)



I love this game so much, but these issues are ruining the game for me severely. im trying to hold out until they come with a patch or something to fix this. but im bout ready to trade this in for Forced Unleashed 2

So I got bored with Boone and raided Cottonwood Cove.

Decimated the entire area and got some fat lootz.

I probably shouldn't of done that, but oh well. I'll come back when my lockpicking hits 75 and set the slaves free. Though I don't see why I can't blast the lock open with my DYNOMIIIIITE! ?

I have the same problem, with things blocking my view when I'm lock picking or aiming with the sniper rifle.

did u guys choose any of those goofy perks to add on when u started? i didn't pick any perks and did hardcore.. game play is fine besides my companions dissapearing, but when i walk next to ppl they still talk to me like they're next to me "thats one freaky eye robot" talking about ED-E but he's nowhere near me.

i've had the game freeze on a load/savepoint and had to restart the xbox then load and start over.. then it will say corrupt data cannot be loaded.. so i have to start over from the previous save point. i now save my game before every door i go into..


also... every time u guys get to a faction, save the game.. there's multiple endings to the game that are determined on how you are with factions.. the first time thru i figured that out, so i just did the yes man thing where u go to hoover dam, blow shit up. and go fight some crazy guy with a bigass sword.

i wish i can elect by force col. hsu as a president or general for ncr. take total charge of NV and open up lucky 38 casino to the public. reuniting freeside,north,east and westside. working with FOA, BOS, and jacobs town to use & create new robots for construction.
-with protection from the boomers build extra defences from the boomers on the south searchlight airport.
-rebuild the south outpost,nipton,searchlight,and camplight.
-allow FOA access to mr house tech and BOS helios & robot tech for aid and protection.
-build a road from novac to primm
-get rid of crimson caravan and allow independant caravan to prosper.
-create a army of trained power armor, ballistic fist, and gauss & tribeam rifle like judge dreads that deals with criminal activities and special forces.
-allowing squatters new homes after they have serve my army.
