Car takes forever to start, like i tried getting it going today took a good 10-15 mins to get going.
Its cranking, but wont fire, if it does fire its right when i turn the key and then won't keep going. If i sit there and crank it, stop... crank it again... stop.. crank... etc.. it seems to slowly get up to the point where it will fire, start to die, then just start. Once it starts it runs awesome doesn't misfire or anything like that.
I have replaced the spark plugs, ended up having to replace injectors, and fuel filter. I've had the car sitting for while so i cant remember everything I've checked or replaced.
If anyone could give me some insight or a direction to go in. I don't know too much about electrical, but i'm wondering could it be my ignitor chip or something like that? Would like to figure this out before i need to park it for winter Thanks

Sounds like the Coolant temp sensor
but check the ECU for codes

How long has it been sitting for? Did you winter-ize the car before you last stopped driving it?

Crank angle sensor. my friend just had the same problem a few days ago. swapped it out with one we had laying around, then bam what do ya know started right away.

I actually just fixes my buddys car today and it was doing the exact same thing. For his car the maf ended up being the problem. Sileighty 85 had a good point too. If the cts crapped out that could cause the same problems. I would check for codes too.

Okay thanks i never knew that you could check codes without a code reader, ill be trying that this week

sounds like low fuel pressure... check for leaks first, i.e. injector o-rings, fuel lines, etc. then check the fuel pump to see if it is priming (it should hum for a second when you turn the key on). if it is, and still not building pressure then look at the fuel pressure regulator. follow those directions until you know what is causing it.

How do you check your ecu? mines not working checked quite a few write ups trying to explain it and its still not working

i check mine like this
- this is general for 89-98 Nissan but most apply to the SR20 motor.
- to set car into diag. mode, with the key in the "ON" position, turn potentometer screw on ECU fully clockwise, then turn it fully counterclockwise. The LED on the ECU will begin to flash.
- first digit = LONG blink; second digit = SHORT blink (ex: 1... 1... 1... 1... then 1-1-1 equals 43 = TPS)

Maybe your ECU is fried? The little red light should come on when you turn the power on. I had an ECU just die on me and I thought it was my fuel pump at first...

Have you pulled all the spark plugs and checked that they are all firing? how does it run once it is started?

I let the fuel pump prime the injectors, i can hear it working. I'm thinking its either not firing proper or something with the air.
Sileighty_85 - thanks for the info i got my ecu to work, and i got code 55... nothing is wrong according to my ecu
Corbic - I think thats going to be the next thing i check just to be sure, thanks for the idea
Rabboni - Is there a way to tell if the maf is bad without swapping it? I have cleaned mine but haven't tried swapping it

Did you gap your spark plugs? if not, do that.
pull a coil pack with a spark plug and look at your spark. Is it firing at wierd times? or firing randomly? that would be your cas. start with fuel, spark, and timing.

The way i diagnosed my buddys car was just to unplug the maf. It wouldnt start, I unplugged the maf, then it started and ran. Im pretty sure that if you look in the FSM it has a section on the maf and a step-by-step on how do test it.
