I loved skating whittier high school (when I lived there) they had a seven stair with a kinked rail really fun to skate over and a 9 stair.

I rode enjoi/almost decks most of the time, wear half cabs and chukka lows, active wheels, independent trucks and speed demon abec 7 bearings,

Favorite video Emerica this is skateboarding.

I always love skating skate parks just cruising around learning new tricks, and manual pads and ledges were the best.

Its probably 10 years old now.. It's that Zero "Dying to Live" board with the half skull graphic. Had the match wheels, Black Panther bearings, and Fury trucks. I may use it to get around the block for something, but that's about it.

Favorite Spots: Parks Junior High, Fullerton, CA - lots of footage for many of Blind's videos was shot there. Tons of perfect ledges and huge stair sets.

bearings: Black Panthers and Swiss Bones, but only bought SB's once since they're quite pricey.

Yes, there was another skateboarding thread... maybe even a couple of them.

I skated for years but never got good for some reason. I mainly enjoyed jumping over little gaps or whatnot. Loved frontside boardslides on flatbars too.

Used to skate the El Dorado park somewhat often (The Huntington park too). Skated all around the streets back then. Quit at 18 after my car accident.

My last board was a Jerry Hsu enjoi which I got when I was 18. blank wheels, Indy truck, don't know what bearings.
My first board was the Girl Koston deck that looked like a radio. After that got a Guy mariano girl deck.

Mostly liked Toy Machine and Flip.
I don't have a single skate video on DVD, they are all VHS. My oldest one I know of is 411 issue 25. My newest one is... Baker2G probably. Love Welcome to Hell and Jump Off A Building. I have the orignal landspeed copy of the CKY video. I just found out that this version is apparently rare.


Lately I've been watching the videos on THE BERRICS. pretty cool stuff. I'm amazed how good and consistant the guys are. I remember skating with Adrian Lopez (of Zero) way back in the day at the Huntington park and he couldn't land anything at all. I wondered how long it took him to film his part in the video. lol.

Skated with Brian Sumner one time at El Dorado. That dude was GOOD. flowed through the whole park hitting everything along the way.

I actually picked up my board and started skating again two weeks ago. At 28 Ill let you know it hurts a hell of a lot more when you slam now, than it did when I skated 10 years ago.
Theres so many awesome parks out there now, too. I'm enjoying carving in the bowls and doing coping tricks alot more now than I used to.
Anyways, Guy Mariano was the best. Everyone knows it.

Ahhh, skating. My first love haha. Been at it for a solid 12 years at this point, haha. I'm a pretty certifiable adult now, with a wife, kids and mortgage, but I still try and skate a couple times a week.

i used to love skating. Got my first board back in '96. but stopped learning new tricks when my board became transportation to girls' houses and a chair to sit in front of the liquor store asking people if they'd buy us drinks or smokes. lol

-We had a vert park in town, but we preferred hitting the streets. we'd mainly skate local school, shopping centers or neighborhood spots.
-Hook-Ups or Birdhouse slicks, GKs, blanks soft wheels, black magic grip tape and German Abec 3s or Speed Demons. With a pair of either Es or Ethnies.
-favorite skate videos were Welcome to Hell, Missled Youth and Fulfill the Dream (minus chad muska).

The high school I went to is in pretty much every skate video cause it's got a 13 stair (I think) with a good lead up and landing space. It's la Canada high school.

Also I was down in chinatown in LA recently and I saw that they capped that loading dock near phillipe's sandwich place that has been in skate videos for years. Shits gay.

Bought a new deck a few weeks ago. Skated twice so far. Definitely need to skate more though. I remember most things, but when it comes to gaps, stairs, and rails, I can't land those at all.

Funny though, I dislocated my shoulder on the bowl at Paramount. I got caught up on the coping of the higher wall and fell straight down onto my shoulder.

This rain is killing me, my buddy and spent all of saturday night finding a worthy parking structure in orange county to set up our flat bar.

Ive been skating the globe- lighthouse for the past 2 weeks and possibly one of the better shoes ive skated in. near perfect board feel and an extremely flexible shoe that still has the support you need. Its like a pair of vans without the heelbruise.
Just picked up a pair of lakai hightops, I wont skate them for a week or so I usually walk around in shoes for a week or so to break them in before they get skated in.

I can't imagine a half pipe like that costing over $500 to build.

I considered building one myself in my back yard, but the elements would definitely beat the piss out of it. Going to have our entire back yard done in cement. So, I might end up going through with it later this year with a shade over it. Although I absolutely loved stairs and gaps, my main thing was bowls/half pipes.

I knw how you feel... I tried a switch back 5-0 at santa ana skate park last week not taking into consideration that i havent skated in years and my legs may not cooperate with me. sure enough i got broke off, it didnt help that some little kid waxed the shit out of a metal ledge.

Well its more for fun, doesnt have to be a bunch of bangers down a huge stairset.
I don't do nollie tricks and the only time I'm in switch is when I'm setting up for fakie.
Personal preference since the way I see it, I'm not going pro or anything and i have just as much fun doing tricks regular. So I haven't bothered to learn nollie/switch.

i love it and its all coming back to me slowly, been skating every single night and every weekend day for at least 3-4 hours with a buddy of mine,

around here in biloxi there aint SHIT to skate is the only problem, sidewalks here are fucked from the hurricane, been skating parking garages mostly. the only park is all vert and has a bowl that is not very good, I loved skating pools back in the day and that was what i almost solely skated, getting into it street with him though.

You just have to get out and skate at least 3-4 times a week. I guarantee the tricks will come back. I have a tiny skate park right down the street from me and I just drop in for an hour each day. I was amazed how good I got just after a few months.

yeah.
when i was at the tail end of skating i did.
It made everything so much easier once you get used to the extra weight and a slower spin on it.

Everything but double kick flips of course, lol.

I am size 11 shoe. if your a 9 or smaller it may be to wide.
Just ride 2 of them in a row, and you will end up liking it i bet.
Just more board and grip tape to catch tricks with, easier ollies and shifties, and rail tricks arent as scary

I'm think about bigger wheels too cause of the crappy sidewalks here, but high trucks feel super akward for me

^^When I got into skating I started with a 7.6 and gradually moved up to 8.25 which is what I skate now.I skated just about every size lol.

Yeah my current street deck is a 7.6 but only because it was $15. Definitely going back to at least an 8 on my next deck.

Those hollowed/magnesium light trucks usually suck from my experience. I like light trucks but broken kingpins and axles are not fun. Same with cored wheels and featherlite decks.

I get thunder 148 hi's because they are the lightest of the better trucks and their hi truck is more like a mid. I swap the crap stock bushings for some Bones (best bushings ever) which do not require washers so I save some weight that way.

Just picked up some Bones Swiss 6 for the first time in my 10+ years of skating....hopefully I'll never have to buy bearings again. Just waiting to pair them up with some Bones STF wheels and for my foot to heal (dropped a knife into it the other day like a retard)

Is it just the parks? Any Park in a populated area has always been the 1 up thing. Canada is the worse, and has been since the mid 90's.
Skating has always been corporate, it just comes and goes.
Remember its centered out of SoCal, home of corporate trends, fake people, and anything cool being branded and marketed.

Plus Phoenix AZ has always been the diet CA of skateboarding. Lotta people come and go through there.
