hey guys i am picking up a gt3076r it has a 1.06 ar. i know that way to big and laggy for what i want spooling slower then a .63 gt35. i am finding most everyone uses the .63 housing. for the gt3076r. but then some suggest .82
with me having the extra .2 liters of displacement. what would you guys suggest.
i have 264 cams
and want to make 450-475 between 4000-8000 on pump gas.
going to run msd 96lbs or rc 1000cc injectors.
the only guy i knwo that ran this same setup was kamikaze he had an over bored sr22. with gt3076 but his dyno charts image links are no longer active.
so you guys think .63 or .82

Do they even make a .82 AR? .82 twin scroll should still be fully spooled by 4500 and push you over 450. HP will be dependent on how well your tuner is.
Anyways, here's a .78 setup from FullRace with a dyno in the bottom....

i have seen all the mazworx, full-race setups. i am converting fro ma gt2871r bottom mount to a gt3076 top mount for not much a price change. i picked up one of those isis top mounts for 77 shipped. so its not going to be twin scroll. maybe later when i get more money. i will switch. but for now its just a t3 single scroll option.

You mean you have an extra 0.2 liters of displacement!
I'm curious, what are your engine build specs exactly?
I have the 30R with a 0.82 A/R on my Full Race true twin scroll setup but it's a stroker SR24 so I'll have to see what kind of #'s I put down!
I can't wait to see the spool and power band on my setup soon!
Check out my build thread by clicking on the link below to give you an idea!

I actually am subscribed to your thread just havent had a chance to read the whole thing.
mazworx released the stroker 91mm kit after i just assembled my engine so i couldnt stroke it too.
but i have a mazworx block, darton sleeves, 90mm bore, cp pistons, eagle rods, bearings the works. new 3 angle valve job, exhaust side ported slightly, knife edged, JWT valve guides, BC springs, bc 264 cams.
if i had money for a full race manifold i would get one. but i dont at the moment, maybe later i will get one. and just buy a twin scroll housing for then.
i wonder how a twin scroll housing would work on a non twinscroll manifold. would it just work asa smaller ar?

your ^ spool should be crazy fast! I had a twin scroll 3076 on my stock sr with bc 264 cams, and some gti-r itbs, and my car just instantly spun some new 275 tires from 3k and up.
I would say the .63 if you want some response for your setup.

response would be nice. since i ran a gt2871r .64 setup that made 371 consistently to the wheels. was responsive and fast as hell. it dynoed high then that but i never ran over 16 psi on the street.
my turbo i am trading for the gt3076 has is a gt2871r .86 spool with my 2.2 was about 8 pounds by 3500-3600 in 4th gear. even sooner soometimes. thats a t2 .86
but i figure i should be able to get full boost by 3500 with a t3 .63 on a gt3076

dont go .63 man too small, go with the .82 or keep the 1.06 its not going to be that laggy. It will also be able to breathe good up top and you can have useable rpms if you bump the rpms higher.
and Make sure you do the HTA Upgrade if you get the 3076R.
People have put down 550whp+ with the HTA3076.

I think 1.06 will be pushing it...it will all be dependent on what you want out of the car. If you drift, you want a bit of response down low before the lag kills the fun factor of the car.
Trust me, I know about this...I'm running a GT3582R and I'm not a biggest fan of it. I'm planning on getting a smaller .63 A/R before I tear the car down and go back stateside.

i dont really want to do solid lifters. and the 1.06 housing it has is a t4 single scroll. i read people got faster spools with the gt3582 .82 then gt3076 1.06. i dont drift at all. dont have a place to learn, and i dont feel like trying on the streets. so only kinda of racing i would be doing is just street with my buddies or drag. we do alot of back country roads. and mazworx dyno with the .63 made power right in the 4000-8000 range.
now since the .82 is .19 bigger then the .63 , but my engine is .2 bigger then a normal sr. maybe the .82 would spool the same on my car vs a .63 on a 2.0 even those those two numbers are not directly related. it would make sense.

i forgot to mention my car does have 9 to 1 compression. so this helps spool up al ittle but limits the amount of boost that can be run on pump gas, aka our crappy 92 octane

Bringing my thread back to life had a little bump in my build. But now I am ready to hit it again. So still haven decided. 82 or. 63

Stupid question, that's unrelated to what you're actually asking but, have you ever considered running E85? Don't know if you've considered this or not, but it can help when running a relatively high compression turbo motor.

I would only use 93 octane along with a piggy back fuel system to feed the load for those power number, I'm running a KA built setup with some blow by but stills get the job done, :)

Well I got fueling under control but no e85 makes it easy. I think I am leaning toward the .82 housing

i would say .82, I had the .63 fast spool not much up top for some reason, also E85 would make your setup wake up!

I'm running a Precision Turbo HP6262 which is similar in size to the 35R, however I went with the .63 A/R and it spool similarly to the GT3076 .82, however I have a billet wheel, which I dont think made as big of a difference compared to the .63 housing.

I would love e85 but the Northwest specially north Idaho doesn't have it at all. I am thinking a 100 shot of nitrous later on with some race fuel. If I make to airway heights race track. And am not working all the time.
The .82 seems like it shouldn't really spool much slower but the. 63 will keep it mid range. But 200 ccs should make a noticeable difference.

200 Should make some difference, but I'm no expert. Also a friend of mines lives in an area without E85 and he buys a barrel when he comes to Nashville, (Splits it with another guy though).

LOL I thought about that. It work if I stayed in one area but I got to drive 1-3 hrs one way for anything.

now i am back to thinking i will use the .63 cause i have seen some nice dyno graphs with it coming on and dropping off when i want power.

dont go bigger than the .82. my friend had a .82 on his SR that was bored .20 over and had 9.1 compression and it felt good. I bet it would feel AWESOME in 2.2l SR
