car started acting funny not reving under load.
car dies at stop light have to push it over.
change alternator - battery light still on
new battery- battery light still on
what could the problem be?

- check your alt fuse
- bad/loose ground

Yea, do what the above people mentioned. Also, check for voltage drop across the wire that goes from the alternator to the battery.

fuses are good. grounds are good. happened randomly. never abuse the car.

sounds like your charging wire is corroded or has a break in it.

As a rule of thumb:
Voltage drop from the positive battery post to your alternator [@power outlet] should not be more than .3v
Voltage drop from the alternator housing/casing to your negative battery should not be more than .2v
.5 together is max allowable drop between the two.
Edit:
If you do have more v.d than max allowable then these guys are correct, high resistance is bigger v.d is corrosion or a break in the line. Corrosion most likely.

Did you actually do the voltage drop test, or are you just assuming its good? Do the test and then get back to us.
