Hi Ziliva Buddies,

I have a 95 240sx and I wanted to rebuild and boost my KA24DE and make it an KA24DE-T. I have about 4-5k to play with and I am going to have to find a shop to do the work for me as well. I would like to know if anyone has used these products listed and what is the pro's/con's about them. They both are great prices for a rebuild and bolt on turbo-kit for the KA. I know I will have to get bigger injectors, fuel pump, upgraded
radiator, intercooler kit, and etc. All that can come into play if I can have some really good information on these two items. Please leave some good comments and don't hammer me out lol. Thanks.

From being waist deep in a crazy KA-T build, I'd reccomend getting a completed AMS short block or better.

Reasons are many, but for the most part, if you want to get accurate oil clearence in your bearings, you really should have the crank polished to match oversized bearings. NOT just throw in some standard and hope for the best. You could throw a bearing if you are out of spec.

All the issues with machine shop+ learning along the way really adds up in cost. ALSO the most important part of your engine is your Tune. Get a stand alone and a good O2 readout/log otherwise your car will suck. This goes even for the SR owners.

I ended up spending about $500 in machinist tools to check bore, oil clearence, fillet roll etc. And after checking a few hundred times, didn't feel comfortable with my 'precision tools', and am sending a 2nd block into a machine shop and getting the bottom end completed by people that have done it often.

PS, don't get 280 cams like I did. Little too wild in such you have to use a die grinder on the head to make them clear. A stage 2 cam should be enough for what you want to do. With dual springs and retainers.

PS, search, but do not post on this website.

If you are looking to upgrade your 240sx using the CX racing kit make sure the turbo is a genuine Garrett turbocharger. There are so many Chinese companies selling cheap knock-off GT30+ turbochargers its silly. Garrett Ball-Bearing turbos dont fall below the $1100+ price range keep that in mind when you see a complete upgrade kit for less than 1600.

We re-manufacture turbochargers everyday and deal with plenty of folks that upgrade the 240sx either from Japanese engine swaps or complete kit builds like the CX racing. Imported "jap" engines have their issues but at least the engine is genuine, 100% of the low cost internet turbo kits are slave labor turbos made in China by small children that don't care about you or your car.

If you purchased a turbo or turbocharger kit for your application and are not sure if the turbo is genuine and want a second opinion feel free to give us a call.
