Underhood, engine, or body harness? There's three different harnesses.

They all differ depending on year, options, transmission type, etc.

What do you mean, you've tried it ? The situation with me is that I have a 1990 and I have the harness but I just recently bought a 1992 with no engine or tranny and harness its just the shell

No, the 89-90 harnesses are different than the 91-94 harnesses.

The chassis harnesses between coupe and hatchback are also different.

If you have all three of the harnesses from the 90 you can put them into the 92 shell as long as the body style is the same. (EG: Coupe chassis harness into a Coupe shell or Hatchback chassis harness into a hatchback)

I was wondering something similar to this, i have a 1991 s13 coupe with a ka24de, no power windows or anything like that (does it make a difference?) and im planning on picking up a 1989 coupe shell with power locks/windows and swapping everything from my 91 coupe to the 89 coupe shell, is there going to be any conflicts?

The power windows/locks have a harness that connects to the chassis harness.
If you don't mind running manual windows and locks you shouldn't have any problems if you swap all three harnesses.

i dont understand this thread. Why re-use 20 year old wiring? Make your own harness' and go the safe route.

seriously? making a harness for the whole car is a pain and a massive undertaking. Even people who build their cars from scratch use a stripped out factory harness from their donor typically.
