What years did the pesky automatic seatbelts come with?

IIRC, all in the US except the convertibles.  Canadian models also had manual seatbelts.

actually, my girlfriend , when she moved to canada, had to turn back and sell her car becasue they told her automatic seatbelts wwere illegal at the border, fucking customs... when i am the most powerful man in the world i'll have everyone killed who gives my baby a hard time

i like them there in my state you have to wear a seat belt so i cant forget to put it on plus i just tuck it under my arm
and when bolth r forward it looks cool with the red shoulder pads

I like them.  I am used to them and I always forget to put my belt on when I am in someone elses car.

i like them but i always forget the lap belt
and ive had several girls comment that it reminds them of "christine" and they get scared that my car is trying to choke them

i like my autoseat belts too, but they always choke my passenger, but never choke me, also, i noticed my passenger side belts move fast than the driver side.. anyone else notice this? wonder if this could cause any problems..
