Uhmm answer is:
the slopes of the triangles are different.
the slope of the green one is 2/5
the slope of the red one is 3/8

that's is the right answer (loosely)...basically, neither of the shapes are triangles...if you look closely the top "triangle" has a slighty concave hypoteneuse, the bottom "triangle" is slightly convex...the added area made by the convex triangle, is exactly on square unit, which is where the "empty" square comes from...
