First off me and my wife are ok, bruised up and sore as hell but we will live. Today is my first time back in the office since Wed so please be patient, you will get a reply as soon as I can get to it.

Copy and paste from another forum on Thursday:

I was traveling on westbound highway 820 in North Fort Worth with my fiance(get married TOMORROW) and some worthless peice of fucking shit drunk driver slams me in the rear at roughly 105-110 mph while I was doing the speed limit at 65mph. I then went head on with a concrete barrier which the IS ended up on top of until my front pass Volk RE30 caught something and took rotor, caliper, spindle, and suspension with it. From point of impact until where I finally stopped I traveled an easy 100 yards at least. The 1st officer on the scene was in awe at the fact both my fiance and I were walking after looking at the car, he initially thought I was just a witness until I informed him I was the driver. I am so happy Toyota built these cars with such high standards, any other car and we would surely not be on this earth anymore. Sad to see my 1st Lexus go out like this but at the same time so thankful I will still have my beautiful bride to share building my next IS with.

Oh my god, thats terrible.
Last summer I was hit head on in my 350z by a drunk driver in an F150. He had 3 prior DUI's and 2 prior hit and runs. I know how it feels.

The bastard ran from the scene but luckily my car wasnt in too bad of shape. Chased the idiot for miles at triple digit speeds on residential roads, with broken headlights, and finally caught the piece of shit. Dude couldnt even stand up. Its unreal the danger that drunk drivers impose on other, innocent drivers. I hope this guy is caught/convicted/jailed.

I mean a lot of us have had a few beers and driven a car. Think about situations like this when you take that risk. You arent just risking a few thousand dollars and a night in jail.

For realz, if you're dumb enough to be shit faced drunk and drive, you're not really just putting your own life in danger, you're putting everyone else's lives in danger.

And the shitty thing is, usually the drunk driver walks away from a horrible wreck completely fine, while a family of 6, usually the father and mother, and all their kids, wind up dead.

Glad you're OK dude, both of you guys. I've lost a family member to a drunk driver before so I know how that goes.

So sorry to see that- I am really glad you guys are alright! Cars can be replaced, but spouses/lives cannot- sorry about the car, but congrats on getting hitched! :)

The guy went to the hospital after he tried fighting the cops off. His entire motor and transmission came out of his Audi A4 so he wasn't going anywhere. 3rd offense with this accident so hopefully he goes away for a long time.

i think youre the rare exception where the drunk driver didnt KILL the person they hit...in vegas, its like EVERY night on the news there are reports of people being killed by drunk drivers...and the drunk drivers walk away with minor injuries...its complete bullshit

im glad youre alright robert...i saw the post and my heart was in my throat as i always expect the worst when i see ANYTHING about drunk driver stories

You know, you would certainly hope so. Unfortunately here in Illinois that is rarely the case. They air commercials all of the time "cracking down on drunk drivers" etc. etc but its all bullshit.

My moms good freind was hit head on by a drunk drivers at 55mph (both cars) on her way to work at 6:30am. She was severely injured, had a leg amputated, and almost died of severe infection after the accident. The drunk driver had 11 DUI convictions. 11. No insurance, no license. Still not in jail.

She now is over a million dollars in medical debt and is in danger of losing her house. Its amazing that this fucker isnt locked up for life. If it was my mom I would make sure that this dude never walks again, let alone get drunk and drive another car.

My step-father lost his dad to a drunk driver here in GA about five years ago, the difference is bc this was the guy's 3rd offense (he also had no license) he went to jail for manslaughter for 10 yrs, eligible for parole after 5 yrs IIRC

But just curious about your rear taillight cover.

Did they say anything about it?

Personally I don't think blacked out rear lights are a good idea and that might have been a small factor in him not seeing you completely.

I'm not saying you're in the wrong, but at the same time for your future safety perhap it would be better not to have blacked out lenses.

Just a suggestion.

^ Tails had LED conversion so they were STUPID bright. In person they were not as black as they appear in the pics. The 1st one with the other vehicles is highly edited so it looks almost solid black.

I have been pulled over a minimum of 10 times since I have had them done(mostly for no front LP) and not once has an officer said anything in regards to them nor any of the officers on the accident scene.

damn...my wife just got rear ended and she was at a stop light. Idiot driver was doing 40...dead stop. looks just like your is except hers was a malibu...and she didn't hit anything in front of her.

Glad you guys are okay....my wife is still in therapy.....it's been a month. lol and my wedding is next month...lol
