Quick question regarding rotor selection for z32 rear brake swap.

I am going to run a hydro ebrake instead of cable, so will not be using the z32 ebrake setup. Will the z32 rotors mount correctly without the ebrake hardware installed behind them, or do I need to use S chassis rotors? I have a 5 lug swap. I have searched, and can't find anything that says the will work without the ebrake stuff - they all say "install e-brake hardware."

Yes it would work, your rotor mounts on your hubs and the caliper mounts on the knuckle. Then route the hydro ebrake between master and rear calipers bleed your system then your done

Yes, it will work. I don't run any e-brake hardware on my car with Z32 rear brakes(weighs a little over 6 lbs per side minus cables).

The e-brake stuff mounts on the spindle, doesn't really have much to do with how the rotor/braking works under normal operation.

whats the chance of it working with the s-chassis rotors? slim to none i figure, due to difference in diameter...

Of what working? Z32 rear calipers with S13 rotors?

You answered your own (ridiculous) question.

but what about the offset of the rotor...i know the diameter is an issue... - the lose of .75" ish in radius or rotor and the pad may hang off the edge...but how much different is the offset? I want to mount the calipers to make sure they will clear my wheels before buying new rotors, and my current rotors are kind of rusted on at the moment, so i can't easily pull them off. ie - i need to mount z32 rear calipers to make sure the wheels will clear, but can't get the rotors off without damaging them..when i finally get around to swapping, i will have the correct z32 rotors to go with the calipers.

Drop your purse and hit the edge of the rotor with a sledge hammer. It'll pop off. Spray it with some PB Blaster around the hub/studs if it's really on there.

If you just want to test fit though, do the Z32 caliper with no pads, it should clear with an extra eigth inch on each side.

Come on man, just look at your car instead of posting away on Zilvia... This should all be obvious looking at the car.
