So I'm in the process of installing a sound system in my 240. 2 front/rear speakers, head unit, and subwoofer. I am going to power the speakers with a 760 watt amplifier, however, the subwoofer I have is an Infinity Basslink. It has a built in amplifier rated at 200 watts I think. My question is should I run seperate power cables to amplifier and subwoofer or should I run a single cable and split it using some power distribution thingy? Would running two separate cables work? Thanks.

it depends on the RMS power rating of that 760watt amp... im assuming that its 4 channel so it couldnt be more than 40-50 watts/channel RMS at 4ohms, which means about 200-300 rms total. then add the 200rms from the basslink and you have a combined total of 500rms... make it 600 to be on the safe side.
to make it easy, what i would do is run a 4 ga. wire from the battery with a 100A fuse to a distribution block. then run 8ga wires to the amp and the bass link. if you really wanted to over do it, you could also put a smaller fuse inline with each of the 8ga wires for added protection, but imho its overkill.
might also want to look into running a capacitor since youll be running more than 1 amp. 1/2 farad would do the job

Is 8 gauge wire big enough for a 760 watt amp? This sounds feasible though. Thanks for the help, that sounds like what I'm going to be doing. I'll put up some pictures on CN when I'm done :)

on a true 760w amp? No, its too small.
On a 4 channel amp that is getting paired with a basslink?
you're fine dude.
