we all know we can do this...
I was bored tonight and took off the inner front driver fender cover and removed the resonator box for the intake. 3 bolts hold it in place and it leaves a hole where the pipe went in. it sits like a foot above the ground and goes stratght up so no worries about snow or rain. Plus it gets air from an opening under the car about 5 inches above the road as opposed to the engine bay.
I sealed off the existing duct on the intake pipe and notice the car has sharper throttle response and more pull when you nail it. Sounds the same though. I think ill get a KnN filter to complete the job, but its definitely worth the 20 minutes to make sure your car is breathing fresh, cool air.
