so you are saying that you only have an empty light housing?
And he has told you this has been covered, a search can bring this up.

yes, empty light housings, no plugs, no bulbs. I bought these lights a while ago. They didnt come with any plugs, i thought its the same with stock so i didnt bother to ask the seller. I try to install it today and find out the plugs are different in type X lights.
i searched but mostly i found are for sale or where to buy cheap tail lights. i did find one thread about how to hook them up but no luck on the where to buy plugs only.
Help me out guys, point me out where i missed when i were searching.

Any luck on your side? I think we are the only two who would need plugs only FML.

I just searched your issue to see if it would really be that difficult to find anything...

yeah, but the only problem is that is probably only good to use for the center reverse sockets. just saying.

what would i hard wire to if i have no plugs? wiring is easy, its that i don't have the plugs. Nissan doesn't stock these here in US. Only way to get the plugs is buy the whole new set of taillights.

"This listing is for number in RED or GREEN in the parts schematic. "
The inner and outter sockets for the brake lights are 26556, not 26540 as seen in the red and green.

you can try your local auto parts store for the bulb sockets, then shave the socket or the housing to fit 'em. only problem is most bulb sockets are bulbs 1156 or 1157, the hole for the bulb sockets on the koukis are a 7443, which is a lot smaller.

correct me if im wrong, 01 Honda accord or 01 civic use 7443. I think im going to try that.

finally got around to installing the kouki tails.
i've asked nissan parts vendors and clear corners but they either don't have it or they didnt reply.
I took the initiative and ghetto rigged mine, but forgot to take pictures just in case someone else needs to do the same.
i used all stock sockets and harnesses. the stock bulbs are too big to fit in the kouki housing, so go to your local auto parts store and get smaller bulbs. youll need a total of 6 bulbs. if you cant find the same type of bulbs in smaller sizes, ask one of the workers to check the back, or try a different auto parts. while there, buy rubber sealant to reseal the tails when installing again.
once you have all your supplies, remove the stock tails obviously, and detach the plastic housing that holds the bulbs and harness from your stock tails. there should be a big one with the brake light and turn signals, and one smaller one with the brake / running light. what I did was take apart the wiring and harness/plug from the plastic trims completely.
There will be screws holding the light bulb housings in place. remove those, and youll find a ground wire right under the screw. you can either use a nut to screw the ground with the light bulb housing back together, or you can be lame like me and break off the plastic trim that you screw the screw into in the first place. do the same for the smaller plastic housing that holds the plugs and light bulb together.
once you have them all removed from the plastics, install your bulbs correspondingly, then just put the bulbs according to the taillights, i.e: brake lights turn signals etc.
now, .____.; you can use duct tape or whatever method you want to, to keep hold the bulbs and housing in the taillights. i used duct tape. yup. this is why i call it ghetto rig.
do the same for the other side.. as for the reverse lights, you dont need to remove any plastic pieces or screw the ground wire and such, because there is none. its just a socket and a bulb. just put the smaller bulb in place and tape / whatever you want to do with it.
now just plug and play.. I understand this method is very very half assed and very lame, but I got tired of searching for the impossible to find sockets. i havent got to drive with them yet, so hopefully the duct tape doesnt melt or something.

saw that thread and a few others before i posted for help in finding the sockets. i assumed from the OP in that thread that you'd need to source down plugs to fit as well, so I didnt bother.
eh im satisfied with mine I guess. no one can see the tape anyways, and it didnt cost me anything to do it besides the bulbs.

Nissan has discontinued the factory wiring harness for the Kouki Tails. You will have to use some ingenuity and get to wiring it up yourself.
