i have a s13 redtop sr20 in a s14 and the temp gauge is not working just stays pinned at cool do i need a 95 ka24de temp sensor?

did you happen to upgrade the rad?
i did that when i swapped my motor and thought the gauge was dead, but the engine ran cooler with the aluminum radiator so the gauge didn't move...
the stock temp gauge is basically an on/off switch. get a real temp gauge.

yeah the radiator is a koyo but one time the motor over-heated the gauge didnt move

There is a temp sensor in the block, just replace it with one from an sr, I think one from a ka will also work though. I did my srswap and my engine temp wouldn't show up, then I switched out temp sensors and now all is well.

temp sensor in the block?? i am not aware of this one.. and the temp sensor i am talking about swapping out for a ka one is the one to the right of the throttle body is this what u are referring to?

The temp sensor for the gauge cluster is the skinny little brass looking one, with one wire going to it. Replace it with the one from your old ka and all will be good.

S14 cluster = S14 water temp sender.
