View Full Version : 91' with 95' KA swap wont Idle Correctly.

so like the title say, I recently bought a 91 HB shell and swapped in a 95 KA into it. The problem is the car starts, but jumps to about 2500-300 RPMs the boggs and dies. occasionally it will stay at 2500 and just bogg like crazy, ive tried everything!! I replaced the sparkplugs, spark plug wires, replaced some of the vacuum lines, bought another MAF, adjusted the TPS, IACv and distributor. pretty much everything ive been told to do. Now Im just getting fed up and am getting pissed. IDK what to do anymore, so either I keep trying, or I just sell it and get a new car. :naw:

-Its a 91' HB, the body is straight with no dents.the interior is really good i just need to clean it. 7/10.
-the engine is out of my friends 95' s14 and it has about 120k on it.

New parts list:
-fuel pump
-clutch master and clutch slave cylinder
-thermostat
-spark plugs and wires
-all new engine gaskets
COUPLE OTHER NEW PARTS AS WELL...

the car will also come with rare canadian Daytime running lights, and a Xenon chuki lip. I payed $200 for the lip and $80 for the lights. ive never installed either. Both were bought from Crimson Rocket

yea I checked the timing and everything...Im desperate enough to pay someone with experience on this swap to come help lol...ill even feed you!! lol

oh its sorta both I guess you can say. If I dont get it running prperly soon, then im just gonna sell it. Its a great deal because everything is pretty much new. and the engine came out of my friends s14 so I know the condition. and miles are quite low as well

hey bro i have same issue jus that i put a 94 s13 ka into my 95 ka.... someone mentioned something about the intake manifolds ima research some more and get back at u .... jus giving u an idea what to look for u know... well let me know if u find something out ...

when you swapped it did you switch the intake mani?

what ecu are you useing?

what dizz are you useing..
it sounds like you diddnt swap over to the s13 stuff for the ka..
but i may be wrong

ok this has happened to me ok ,so to have a 95 ka run in your 91 normally, reuse the s13 intake manifold, s13 stock intake, s13 distributor cap/and rotor/plug wires, s13 ecu, and install all that in your 95 ka, and it will work :barf:

well i swapped over all the manifolds minus the intake manifold. my friend said there isnt a big difference between the s13 and s14 intake manifolds. but maybe thats what it could be. I just have a hard time cuz i think if i try to swap over the s13 intake manifold ill get confused with all the vacuum lines. but il give it a try. oh and im using a s13 distributor and ecu. I understand swapping everything onto the 95 KA so I just gotta see if it was cuz it still has the s14 intake manifold. We will see

I got an idea...whoever comes and gets this damn car running Ill give them my used Xenon lip for the Chuki front end! I paid $200 for it.

I was told dat the 95 ka obd1 was partially obd2 so that could be a prob with ur ecu ... But don't quote me on it

remove em there's a couple write ups on removing emissions... Like dat you wnt have vacuum leaks or you can jus take it to ur local shop an have them do it...

Ive seen you can remove them, but have also seen theres complications when you delete emissions. so ive heard and read

jus take in to a shop and have em do it ask around for any good mechanics dat specialize in 240s
