Ok I have a 6 bolt S13 4.36 geared VLSD WEEKEND SPECIAL SOLD!. that is without shipping.
These gears installed are not easy to get and great for autocross or drifting. Has much better off the line acceleration for our cars. Really makes them come alive!
Oh and it does come with the s13 larger finned rear cover.
Oh and don't come in the thread whining about how you can get a 4.3 ring and pinion from other things or buy it separately. Separately these cost over $400 new from Nissan.
To get the ring and pinion installed in a diff for this price cannot be beat.
shipping would be $90
I do not have pics right now. Will probably have them later, do not suggest pics will help. i.e. keep your comments about pics to yourself. LOL

So does it make them longer or shorter? My stock s13 diff with the red top transmission is way too short for highway use...

Your stock diff has the same gearing that cars with redtops in Japan had. Your gears should not be to short for highway use.
Unless...someone rebuilt your trans with different gears. Even then it would most likely be a closer ratio setup for quicker spacing between gears to keep your revs from dropping as much.
This would be shorter than stock gears. A lot of drifters and autocross guys like these gears because it gives you more acceleration out of the hole i.e. exiting corners, initiating drifts, off the line etc..
If you are looking for a taller or longer ratio you should be looking at 3.9's
It is possibly just in your head that your stock gears are too short as well. LOL

Bump for you Dave.
I can vouch for the shorter 4.36 final setup- Really makes acceleration on the KA much quicker and is good for highway use i.e. you won't run out of revs in cruising in 5th gear.
Someone buy this- You won't regret it.

I don't know maybe they just feel short to me.
I'm usually around 3500 rpm when i'm on the freeway doing 75
Stock gears are stupid long. I could hit over 100 mph in 3rd - it was slow as hell once I got into 4th or started out around 55 mph in a roll.
4.36 gears make the car much more liveable, and still give you the gear to pull up to ~160mph in 5th with average sized tires, which is about as fast as I'd ever want to go in an S chassis.
