well the oc foodie fest was sold out so you can only imagine how many other people were waiting in line ... but i would have to agree that my buddies are kinda slow at cooking/preparing the food, they can only do sooo many things at once

I honestly don't understand the appeal of gourmet food trucks.
If I have to pay restaurant prices, I'll go to a restaurant.
Give me a no-nonsense taco truck any day over this overpriced 'fusion' nonsense.

Actually some are reasonably price like Mandaline Grill the Vietnamese truck that hangs out in my hood on wed evenings 6-9. Bahn Mi,Vietnamese tacos and Bun.
Beef, Chicken, Pork and even Vegetarian.
There is also a Pulled Pork truck ( Gastrobus) thats pretty good though it has not been around lately.

thanks to everyone that made it out ... only noticed a few 240s throughout the night but people started rolling in DEEP right at 830 to the point where i lost track of all cars
DEFINITELY A SUCCESSFUL MEET ... i'll try and find pics or videos and post it up

Lol, come on Dave, you live in the Hollywood area!
I know there's a good deal of decent Viet & other cheap eats close to you.
Viet sandwiches, pho, and such aren't expensive as is.
Now if the truck's parked a lot closer that the restaurants,
I could understand the appeal of convenience.
For other ppl, including myself, not being close to one, and having to track the bus via Twitter/Facebook, etc is pain.
The only truck I've ever came close to enjoying was the Buttermilk truck's fried chicken & waffles.
They held a catering event on a film lot close to my work, & I snuck in to eat for free.

I thought it was a good meet. Definitely had a ton of cute girls compared to other meets, musta been cause there was food at this one!
I dont think its a waste to eat at those gourmet trucks. The dogzilla hotdog i had was only $5! but it was as big as a costco dog, but tasted amazinggggg.
i was there in the gray rx7 with the loud wastegate
