long story short, i took the ole girl in to get a cat to pass smog. the shop who put the new one on didnt cut it to correct length. so the tension from it straining against the mounts and the cat that is easily 1.5-2 inches too long. so, that caused my stock exhaust to "push" into the resonator from both ends. i had to pull that off due to it being loud as shit and put my custom 3 incher on.
took it back to the shop, they said well obviously this exhaust wasnt made for this car. i tell them, ive had this exhaust for 7 years and run it on 2 s14's. this exhaust isnt the problem. its the cat that you put in... its too long. they tell me i dont know what im talking about. all they did was directly replace my cat. i tell them, all you have to do is mount the stock one on there and you will see that it doesnt fit anymore. they want to charge me 100 bucks just to look at it. WHEN THEY ARE THE ONES WHO FUCKED IT UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.
so please, someone just tell me im not going crazy.
also, if any s14 owner has a stock exhaust sitting around, could you kindly take a pic of the 90 degree elbow that sits right behind the muffler. the shop is telling me that it is bent, and im pretty sure thats how a stock exhaust looks.
frustration!
