I have asked Patrick at RHDJapan to interpret these instructions. This kit adapts the 300zx (z32) rear e-brake to the 240sx. It comes with everything you need except bolts.

It's pretty simple once you go under the car and check it out.

Normally the e-brake cables bolt right to the botton of the chassis on either side of the driveshaft tunnel area. With the drum b rake conversion, you need to mount the cables a little different.
This bracket works like this.

You bolt the bracket to the original cable mounting location on the chassis. Then, you bolt the cables to this bracket. All it does is move the mounting location (forward or backwards.. i forget right now). Hope that made sense.

They came with the R33 cables for a couple hundred I believe. I was not sure if the cables are mounted above the plate, which would be ideal for drive shaft clearance, or if they mount below. It seems like the cables will need to be held up if they are mounted below.

I am trying to cover my grounds and make sure that I have everything straight before completing the install. I don't have a lift in my garage, thus I don't like being under the car any longer than I have to.

I spoke with Patrick at RHDJapan about interpreting the instructions and he asked me to post the request on a forum and send him the link so the interpretation could be shared with everyone that uses the forum.

You don't any brackets or adapters when using R33 cables. They're a direct replacement to the S14 cable with the correct Z32 end to the drum.

So, why did you buy these?

Yes it is

Does it say whether the cables mount between the plate and the car or below the plate?

Is that your car in your signature? What color blue is that?

Thanks,

It is more of a guess that the cables are R33, nevertheless they came with cables. Does the R33 route the same as stock?

seems to say, mount the cable to the plate then bolt the plate to the body
So the plate is sandwiched.

Like Russ said the S14 uses R33 cable with out Mods, and the S13 uses the Z32 cables with plates like that.

You said you bought the cables and those brackets for a couple hundered???
The nismoshop.com sells both cables for $100 and and you can fab those brakets for less than $20

Car is rattle canned, that pic does the car way too much justice, haha

Yeah, I guess I paid about $80 too much. It not the first time I have lost money on purchases and I am sure it won't be the last.

Your car looks sweet in that picture, when I repaint my car I had planned to do it in WRX blue but the blue of your car looks even better.

I can tell that you are one lazy fuck. GO UNDER THE CAR AND SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!
If you cant tell where goes where nor don't know how to do it, you should not work on the car and therefore you should seek for professional help. Trust me, you dont need more than 5 IQ point to do this.

Z32 cables work without extra parts on an S13 chassis. Now you know.
