i have an SR with just basic bolt ons and one of my friends has kind of been trying to convince me to spray. at first i was like hell no, but i'm kind of thinking about now. so is anybody running nitrous on their SR? the reason why i am thinking about it is b/c it will be quite a while before i can afford a turbo upgrade, but i want a little extra speed. i was thinking of doing maybe a 75 shot wet. that would be the safest way so i don't have to do injectors or anything like that. so what do you guys think?

In my opinion direct port is best, and its both safe and cheap, but you have to be willing to remove and modify your intake manifold.

nitrous seems fun to play with.. i want to shoot nitrous for kicks, but wouldn't do it w/ expensive motors. maybe play with nitrous on honda d series engiens or b18a or b18b.. some ppl have shot nitrous into ka24e. i think theres a writeup on 240sx.org

yeah i know nitrous can be dangerous. actually now that i think about it, for me to do it in the safest way possible it would probably cost me more than $500. but you have to admit that a 75shot on an SR would be really fun.

for an extra couple hundred dollars you could do a turbo upgrade. Why do nitrous then?

i plan to use the single fogger wet kit that i ran on my subaru when i finish my SR swap, so hopefully i can let you know good news :) i searched a while back and didnt really find anyone who knew what the hell they were talking about.

but i ran the kit on my subaru and it worked great. hopefully i'll have my SR swap completed in a few days, just gotta get small stuff like e-fans, gauges, boost controller etc finished up.

as for doing a turbo upgrade instead of the bottle, it all depends on what you are after. personally ive got the nitrous kit at the house, so i might as well put it on something......but the car with the gas on it vs the same car with a turbo upgrade of same cost is gonna be faster because of the instant torque of nitrous, assuming it hooks anyway

Nitrous and turbos ussually go good together. The nitrous cools down the heated air from the turbo giving even more power then expected. Win win situation if you got a beefy enough motor :boink:
