so i am completely new to the nissan scene

i just recently acquired a Pulsar GTI-R in a trade for my H22 Civic

the car needs a new starter
can i just pick up any SR20 starter and it will work?
also i did some research and the bottom end is the same as any other SR but heard the head is different
would it at all be possible to swap out the whole motor and say as an example put in a S15 SR into it?

Hello and welcome but after reading what you posted I'd suggest you read a lot more before posting.

Any FWD SR20 starter is fine

can i just pick up any SR20 starter and it will work?
they are different vs.rwd.

I do not know what 1/2 ass forum you read that on, but the block is different as it has forged pistons and the block has oil squirters for under piston. oil pump is different from the base SR20 FWD motor,The head is different as well the cams/ springs / valves.

I'd suggest you google and get info on the UK forums for the GTi-R or the Australian forums for this car.

Honestly you are new to this, but that post will probably get the spit smacked out of your mouth if you post something like this online.

if you asked that then I think you need to sell that car and go back to the Honda area, if you take it the wrong way here is a video for you.
