So has anyone run these on a s14? I was wondering what your guys thoughts were on them compared to stance and other brands.

Duffm4n had them on his S14. Well, he had Function/Forms, not sure if they were type 1 or type 2 though... Whatever. They weren't bad at all. Stiff spring rates, iirc, but not bouncy. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth they were when I rode in the car. And of course, they went looooow.

Then again, it's been said that a picture is worth 1000 words, so if your magical camera can actually somehow convey your opinion of the coilovers, then hey, post away!

they are really not that bad you can really go low with these coilovers. cant really say about the cons because these are my first coilovers but my friends always say i should of went with a different brand but i got them for 800 brand new so thats why i went with them, also because duffm4n had them

they handle awesome on mountain roads. at least thats my fav place to go. and they go WAY lower than i have them set. i picked a happy medium. and for the price, i wouldnt replace mine with megans, or godspeeds. Stance's are slightly better imo but not worth replacing my F2's.

They are super nice, more like for street but i think they have track version too. They can go REAAAALLLLY LLOOWW but don't act like the way they are being low ( you know when you lower your car, the car bounce like hell). They are pretty comfy on the street.
The price is cheap, too cheap for something that good so the question is, what's the catch? I don't think it would last long

Type 2's are 900+ just like PBM's, Stance and Megan's
Cant say for the S14, but I have them on one of my s13s, 8k, 6k IIRC, seem okay, a lot more comfortable then the PBM coils I have in my other car, but the PBMs have stiffer springs, and I havent spent much time with the damper settings.

I have them on my s14. I can't compare it to others because I haven't ridden in others. I like them, if my opinion matters. I had them for about 2 years now, they've seen 2 events and it gets daily everyday on some poop roads all the time. They still feel as great as the day I have bought them. I have type 2 btw.

to the people that have had them for a while how are they holding up?
chituntang
11-29-2011, 12:52 AM
They go pretty low...
Got them used (said to be 10k miles). Drove them daily for another year, then stored the car for 3 months. Make a little noise now but still rides great (could be other aftermarket suspension component that is making the noise). But as far as the holding up question, you need somebody with more experience to answer that for you. I can only tell you they are not yet blown after 2 years of DD. You need to diy your own brake line holders.
IMO they look pretty close to Fortune Auto coilovers.

to the people that have had them for a while how are they holding up?
I put type2's on my s14 about a week ago and after I got the dampening dialed in right they're great. I've heard reviews of these being rough, no, smooth if you have them adjusted properly. No noise here aside from hearing the gas in the rears charge when hitting a good size bump. the brake line bracket on mine fitted the stock line perfect. With 7" springs f&r they go low in the front and way low in the rear. They don't have pillow-ball mounts in the front, it's a bearing plate that sits below the adjustable camber plate that seems to be of quality construction and operates smooth (how long? IDK). Sorry I can't help with the long term reliability but I figured I'd throw in my .02, and for $725 new shipped to my door they are cheap! But still wondering why:confused:
qwerth
11-29-2011, 07:19 PM
i think they are getting cheaper due to the fact that not much were using them for the s chassis or maybe a new model is coming out
when the type 2 came out the type 1 price automatically dropped
and for the people that have said that they suck when you go low i don't understand how that could happen unless they lowered it through the preload
strickly.

your front lower control arm may be bent...and you may not have installed them correctly...when you install coilovers, you need to push them in on the spindle with your foot with both bolts in...keep pushing them in toward the car as you tighten the bolts down (its kind of a pain, but if you dont, youlll wind up with improper camber on both sides)...it has to do with the give in the lower mounts...usually one of the bolt holes is oblong to allow for more camber
@(O_o)@

The lower mount came slightly slotted like what dorkidori_s13 said.
Mine are still going strong. They saw a couple of more events and still daily them almost everyday.

I have function and form type II's on my S14, I don't hate them, but after riding in a friends car with D2 coilovers I noticed how smooth D2's are even on the roughest road. F&F II's are a little firm for my taste, but I like luxury smooth and not over reactive response to bumps.

Sorry to bump an older thread but...
Has anyone had any luck with finding replacement rear lower shock mounts (fork type) so that you can use these coilovers with z32 uprights, or am I going to have to sell these to buy another set?
I tried emailing f2autolife about them and they said they don't sell replacement mounts for the z32.
I figured since most of the coilovers out there are pretty much the same another brands mount would work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No, the rears are not maxed out. The rears go so low that you could drop the subframe to the ground. The drop on the rear is maxed out on my Kouki because of the ruca's, they're against the frame.... time for some PBM's

wtf do you mean they are honda coils? you mean they make coils for honda as well, yes, they do, its fucking suspension. its the same god damn principle with different dimensions for mounting and spring and shock rates.
I can buy konis for my honda and my nissan, that shit is wack.
:gives:
I have the f&f type 2 coils on my s13 and while their dampening isnt as good as, well, lets say koni, they were cheap, same damn thing as almost every other company if you dont want to spend fortune or stance or pbm bucks, and they go low.
i have them on full stiff and i think they ride the best at that setting. I am pretty sure i can get them lower without adjusting the preload, but i just havnt done it yet.
also, these are made in china, if that bothers you but you dont want to spend a bunch, buy teins.

It was bouncy out of the box(freeway speeds) until I realized I hadn't checked the damper settings at all. Pulled over, set it at 20/32 all around and it's been good since. At least for the 50 or so miles I drove the car for.
