i know all these stands for somthing, i'm gettin rims so i try to know what all these means.

the p195
the 60R
the 15 (is it my rim size?)
and the 87t

only on one tire it says 87H, which i assume, it's a new tire, since it's different from the 3 others...

195 is the width of the tire in millimeters.
60 is the height by percentage in millimeters of the width.
15 is the size of the wheel
87t is the rating of your tire. I forget the rating specs but I'm sure they are out there. The t is generally a speed rating. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

#### twoforty, I'm sure you know what you're talkin about but you need to read your post over.. &nbsp;

195 is the width in Millimeter
60 percentage of 195 is tire height, or thickness..
15 is size of the rim it goes onto
i only know z is the highest speed rating, &gt;120mph

T is rated to 118mph, S is 112, H is 130, V is 149, Z is 149 plus

to clarify a little
60 is the aspect ratio of the sidewall to the width. &nbsp;Your tire is 195mm or 7.7 inches wide. &nbsp;60% of 195 is 117...so your sidewalls are 117mm or 4.6 in. tall.
The R in the R15 stands for radial.

if my tire is 7.7&quot; wide, what does that say about my rims? &nbsp;r my rims around that? 'cause i recall 7.5 is quite big

02-21-2002, 09:28 PM
no. &nbsp; If you have factory rims, they are probably 6.5's

now i'm all confused... wha dose rim width has to do w/ tire width?

It's natural for tires to be wider than the rim. The rim should be at the very least 70% of the tire width, though the rim should preferably be in the 80%-90% range.
