Details?
Right now this is just like a picture book, and I don't know if the mods will allow this to last long.

how does that throttle cable bracket work out for you?
from the pic the cable looks kinda loose.. yeah you can adjust it. but is it strong enough to hold it down? looks neat.
Zach-sr
11-23-2010, 10:14 AM
It is loose at the moment because I haven't kept it running long enough to adjust it.
It is strong enough to hold it though, absolutely no play at all when bolt are tightened.

looks super super dope, awesome job on the wiring!
If you don't mind me asking, how much did this cost you?
Zach-sr
11-25-2010, 06:31 AM
I have done this on a super tight budget. I have my own place, have custody of a kid, and am in school. But what part exactly are you talking about? The swap cost probably about 3.2k and this re-build has cost me about 1-1.5k. But I have done it over a long span of time so it was $60 $100 there and so on. So it didnt seem very expensive.

Thanks, and yes. I made brackets so it bolts to where the fender bolts to the front bumper in the wheel well.

Howd you hide the fuse box?
Any pics of how you mounted it and wiring?

^^ what he said, very cool how you hid it!
Zach-sr
01-07-2011, 07:10 AM
Ok,
1.Take top and bottom covers off fuse box. You will be left with a flat panel of fuses and relays.
2.Take apart the panel (it is only heald together with tabs). Do this with a flat head.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/100_0352.jpg
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/100_0353.jpg
3.Shove the mess through the hole next to your battery.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/100_0356.jpg
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/100_0366.jpg

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/IMG_0001.jpg
4.Now that your wheel well looks like a transformer threw up in it you have to put this crap back together. (Sorry for the lack of pictures from this point on.)
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/IMG_0003.jpg
I used the stock bracket at this time to bolt it under the battery box. (I have changed it since then).
5. Stare at sucess.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/IMG_0004.jpg
This is how I get power to the fuse box...
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/IMG_0027.jpg
Crappy picture but you can kind of see where I ran my harness into the wheel well bye drilling a hole and putting a rubber gromit in to ensure there is no rubbing.
http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/17764.jpg
Hope this helps. It cost me about $3.

so in order to replace a fuse, you have to remove your front wheel....awesome.

01-07-2011, 08:18 AM
ah touche, but I have already thought of this. So with a simple left turn of the wheel and opening of a left hinged door i am making in the inner fender liner and you have complete access to all fuses.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w165/boodoot259/IMG_0029.jpg
All I have to do is cut three sides and figure out some kind of latching system. It very will may end up being zip-ties due to simplicity.

Well I started the car and it ran but I had a problem with the clutch not completely engaging. So I got a new one. I go to put it in and its too big. I thought it was a problem with the parts company but it turns out whoever had the motor before me put a SR20DE flywheel and clutch on it. So I got an oem SR20DET flywheel and It went right in and it fixed the issue.
I also got a new oil pressure sensor for the prosport gauge since my other one never read anything. I dont recomend the oil gauge or any other that uses any electric sensor. After reading into the problem I found that almost everyone has these sensors crap out on them almost every six months.
I also removed my upper timing chain guide in hopes that was the tapping occoring when I last started it. After removing it I saw some very deep scaring so hopefully that was it.
All thats left is bolt up stater and install driveshaft.
In the mean time here are some real pictures of the new valve cover color.

Well I started the car today. No rattling noise anymore. Just gotta put good gas in it. The gas that is in it is a year and a half old. And I need to adjust the TPS. Then I should be good to go.
