today start up my car & it was backfiring alot, i found a big exhaust leak by the resonator. i'm getting spark on to all cylenders but there's no difference to the engine when i pull the wire off cyl #1. it runs almost normal but stuters and struggles over 3 grand. i think that the injector may be shot. i've heard you can use an ohm meter to test it but i have no clue what it should read. any help?

did you do anything to your car lately, like in last 2 weeks?

also check fuel pump and fuel filter.

nothing changed recently, fuel pump seems good. can't see how fuel filter would acount for everything but will be changed on the weekend regardless as it probably needs doing anyways. at least a major portion of the problem is on cylender one as when i pull the plug wire there's no difference in the way the engine runs

maybe the problem is in THAT wire try a diff. one. since it maks no difference with/without it might be THAT particular wire or spark plug.
