Ok peeps, I came up with a solution for us with silvia conversions to take advantage of our OEM factory fog lamp wiring our S13's are equipped with and using a switch that plugs directly into it and replacing the flip up light switch also will include the OEM relay that goes into the relay box under the hood, I'm thinking of making them and selling them on the cheap side, especially that finding the jdm switch is a hassle and expensive, I'm thinking about $25 $30 shipped if people send me their flip up light switch, first I'm going to try this local here for chicago land area and see how it goes.
I figure its better than using some cheapo switch that burns out or worse causes an electrical fire like my friend did last week which made me do this switch in the first place.

to everyone wondering, im currently trying to find a fog lamp decal that i can have made for these buttons to complete the look, THIS SWITCH IS PLUG AND PLAY, DISCONNECT YOUR POP UP LIGHT SWITCH, PUSH THE POP UP LIGHT WIRING CONNECTOR IN (YOU WILL NOT USE IT) LOCATE YOUR OEM FOG LAMP WIRING HARNESS PULL IT THROUGH THE PORT WHERE THE POP UP LIGHT SWITCH WAS AND PLUG IN MY SWITCH AND YOU'RE DONE.
I DID NOT CUT THE "BROWN" WIRE, I DID NOT CUT ANY FACTORY WIRING, I DID USE THE POP UP LIGHT BUTTON HOUSING, THE CONNECTOR AND THE INTERNALS ARE NOT POP UP LIGHT PARTS, THESE PARTS ARE ALL OEM AND MADE FOR FOG LAMPS. i am picky about my car, i dont want some aftermarket fog button randomly put somewhere random place in my interior, i know some of you are the same way, thats why i came up with this.

here's the video of what im talking about

YouTube - S13 240sx silvia conversion fog light switch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtfwq97eMsQ)

i used the outer housing from the pop up light switch thats why i took the pop up light decal off to put a fog decal on it because it is now a fog switch, the connector you are seeing me plug this switch into is the OEM fog lamp wiring that i already pulled through, the pop up light wiring was already puhsed through, the internals of the pop up lights switch were not used nor was the connector from the pop up switch, i did not cut the brown wire, i didnt even use the pop up wiring, i used the OEM fog lamp wiring our S13's are equipped with.

let me know what ya think and post pics and details for your fog light switches, or if you're in the chicago land area and want one of these let me make you one see how you like it.

thanks, i didnt want to rewire anything or put extra fuses/relays and deff did not want to have a random looking button in my interior, the car was already prewired for fog lamps so i took advantage. just gotta see what i can do for a decal/emblem for foglights for the button

you need to post that it will only work for cars that are pre wired for fog lights

base models arent

otherwise good idea, im hoping do the same thing with my sil80

That's a good idea. I did the same.

I purchased a JDM Cluster Surround (because it was clean) with all of the buttons including fogs. I simply took my Pop Up switch out disassembled (same to the fog light switch) I poped out the fog decal with my finger and placed it in the Pop Up switch a bit of super glue just to be safe and done.

you could probably just contact any company that makes sticker and have them made in bulk for a reasonable price. if you tell them the dimensions of the sticker that's on the switch you could probably just apply the new sticker over the old one, or remove the old one and replace with new.

The "decal is a small disk. If you wanted to use a sticker I think you may have to have a small transparent round piece of plastic to place it on.

most definitely would have to have something to put a "Sticker" on.

Unless you have extra switches laying around and you could just cannibalize one and flip it since the backs of the emblems are white.

yay, lmk, its really easy to find, i suggest to take your battery out, the OEM fog lamp wiring connectoris in the passenger side, look at my vid to kinda get the idea of where its at, 80-90 240sx have a small black connector and i think 91-94 have a gray connector, i'll postya a pic in a few minutes.

actually i was going to see if you wanted to, cause im bastardizing my hatch and making a sil80 rite now. And like the clean look of using the pop up switch. But my problem is my hatch is a base and doesnt have the wiring for the fog lights. But i do have like 4 switches ready for converting. PM me with some details.

why not just relocate all the switches to the stock locations from a silvia. that is what i did. i ran the the flood lamp wiring off the stock 240sx wiring the same way that you did. the only spicing that was nessessary was to extend the hazard switch wiring. i am using the inner bulbs of my brick lamps for the fogs.

that looks nice, im lovin' the color and the brick head lamps, you're lucky though you have the jdm fog lamp switch, another reason is i made these fog buttons because people like me have cruise control also and we'd have to take that switch out.

with my button you get rid of the pop up light switch that you wouldn't need, and get to keep the cruise, hazard, defroster switchesand it has the OEM look,i like your set up though.

hey, how'd you get your piggy lip to sit perfectly like that? i wanna put mine on but i dont want mine to sag in the center like i see a lot of people cars

all that i did on all of my cars is ziptie the lip to the fender, then have a friend hold up the lip as i drill holes in the bumper that match up with the stock mounting holes in the lip. i then use a bolt, a nut and two small fender washers per hole. it will never move

why not just buy the jspec fog lamp button. i have bought one for all of our s13s (all 4) off of ebay. for less then 10 bucks each. one came with the rare parking pole switch

i'd love a link to that ebay seller, i've looked for so long and only came across one and it went for $73, plus some people have the cruise control switches and the Jspec switch goes in that spot, and finding the 180sx/usdm fog switch that replaces the coin hold is impossible to find, not to mention, why have a flip up light switch if you have a silvia front end?

The decal on the pop-up/fog light button is easy to pop out. Swap with the JDM one and some super glue around the edges. Done. I did this and it's great looks factory!

I can get the JDM Fog switches but they will be more then $10. PM me if your interested.

It was a while ago. Back before everyone went rice boi crazy over anything jdm. Although i was at an importer in california a couple months ago, and he had a stack of cluster bezels off of clips. Most were 180s. But i did find a couple silvia bezels with the fog lamp and a 180 with the fog lamp switch. Pulled them all off and got them for 20.

i tried to see if i could find just the jdm fog lamp decal but no luck, thanks but the reason im making these is because even with the jdm button you have to replace the switches under the pop up switch, some of us have the cruise control buttons that we dont want to relocate, even then we'd still be stuck with a pop up switch on top of the fog lamp button.

would you be able to get the decals from the switches

@sil80d, ah ok yeah i know what ya mean, it's getting annoying going to the gas station and asked is the car jdm? when my car is clearly a LHD or asking one i get alot, do you have a jdm skyline motor, the word jdm is replacment for civic....lol

Have you tried talking to a vinyl cutter. I have had dual layer vinyl stickers made in the past. Black for the circle and white for the logo. That would look awesome
