I have about 4500 to spend on my Ka and I wanted to know if you could recommend me to any local shops in the SoCal area. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

How many miles does your KA have and how much power are you looking to get out of your KA?

Well.. this is from experience. Fast, cheap, reliable. Pick two. Yes, that is an old expression, and yes, it is still true.
I had my motor built for $3700 (labor, rods, port and polish, valves, pistons, rings, new timing components, new oil pump assembly, gaskets, bearings, balancing, ect.) and then $560 for JWT Cams. That's a grand total of $4350 for an engine with optional cams that you want, . Add a $500 ECU, $200 Cobra MAF, $430 for 50# injectors and top feed rail (needed for 280rwhp+). So now, for a motor capable of handing 300rwhp, you've spent $5480-ish. I don't know the labor for anything else, since I've done everything but build the engine myself. Now you're nearly $1000 over your budget and have no boost. Top that off with gauges, boost controller, turbo timer, and you're $1500 over budget. My turbo setup has costed $3400, and a kit is $4000. You're out of your league for the money you have and the goals you're trying to attain. Oh, and check out my website in my signature below.
