Ive had my 240 for 2 1/2 years now, and it seems like every year I need to replace the same caliper. Passenger rear. The first year the slide pins fused up, so I took them out, sanded the rust off, cleaned the holes out, and greased the shit out of em. The second year I replaced with a used but working caliper, and I greased the slide pins before install. I just had my wheels off yesterday and noticed that same caliper's pads are way more worn than the other side. Wtf?? Why does this keep happening? What can I do to prevent it? This is getting a little ridiculous.. every year?! What do you guys recommend?

i replaced it twice, then got z brakes.

Did you inspect the seals on the new/used caliper, or is it the pins again?

You probably need new pins and pin boots.

The pins and boots were fine when i put them back together. Its the pins again though. Has it happened to you since going to Z brakes? If the Z brakes dont have such a problem with it, that reason alone would be enough for me to upgrade.

What are you using to grease them?

I bet that stuff burns off once the brakes get up to temperature. Get something high temp. Preferably designed for brakes

Have you considered rebuilding the caliper? The rebuild kit is like 10 bucks and it is not hard to do.

My s14 rear calipers seized on me before. After the second time when a remanufactured caliper seized I went to Z brakes and it hasn't seized since.
