Curious about a reccomendation...
I was told by a pretty reputable guy to run a 0.8mm Apexi MHG for my setup in order to boost a minimum of 1 bar. here's my setup (pretty common):

2871 .64
256 poncams
850cc injectors
greddy int mani
SS ex mani
PFC d-jetro
All other supporting mods (motor compression is perfect)

I see alot of people running the 1.2mm size gasket.

I am just wondering why he said to run a 0.8mm MHG as opposed to 1.2??? I don't forsee decking the head or anything. Anyone have any input/guidance as to why this was reccomended possibly?

Also, Whats the correct STOCK SR20DET size? I see both 1.1mm and 0.9mm

I think this maybe why he rec'd the 0.8mm MHG.

HELP! :bowrofl:

Less compression drop so itll be more responsive. But personally, I dont think it makes that much difference. The compression drop with going 1.2 or even 1.5mm is not gonna make a noticeable difference.

Also, with the GT2871R, you will have to run more than 1 bar. 1bar is just the beginning of the efficiency of the turbo. I'd run atleast 1.2 to as much as 1.5, maybe even more depending on who's gonna be tuning it.
