This thread is to do a roll call for all the guys who want a fitment hall of fame or extreme fitment thread!
I can only set this up correctly iof the moderators or admins step in and help out.
I will be adding to the thread the approved extreme fitment pictures and setups once every month or two.
it will be a locked thread, and only for surfing or research purposes.
if you are tired of having to sort through 100's of 4x4 garbage setups when looking for a decent fitment picture. please express your self here.
The mods dont want the extra work,
But I feel it will be less work for them, no need to keep cleaning up the fitment thread,
wanna be fitment guys will post their fitment in the wheel fitment whore thread.
and it will be approved or failed by the fitment guru's. if you got what it takes you get to have your pics added to the fitment all stars thread.

specs should also included coilovers alot of people would like to know what coilovers you are using as well.i find that left out the most more than any other spec.

What is going to be the criteria? When you say "decent fitment" do you really mean wheels that are forced to fit with atleast -5* camber, 4 sizes too small of tire and a contact patch of about 5"? I would call the thread All Star Extreme Fitment. And I want to see atleast one picture of a door stopper under the tire.

I agree with gabe. We do need a actual wheel fitment thread, not one that just has pictures, with people saying oh that looks cool... But one that is completely filtered with actual information. Why is it so hard to have a for sale thread that has an exact description of a wheel, yet we can't have a fitment thread with just pictures and specs.
I think if we had someone clean it up, and monitor it right...it would benefit us all.
I vote gabe as chairmen lol!
In my mind, I see All 17x9 inch wheels, with different tire setups, then 17x9.5's, then 17x10's etc..through all the sizes...as well as them on cars with fender specs etc. This isn't hard, just a little time, and could be the greatest fitment thread to date.
simple, doesn't need 30 different 17x10's with the same 225x40....just a few, maybe the most popular, and if people want to request to see a spec of something, that can be looked into.
I mean this could even compile the maximum tire and rubber thread into a no-nonsense wheel fitment FACT SHEET!
oh yes.....this is destined for greatness!
the problem with this is that it will be exactly like the current thread. really what justify insane fitment to flush fitment. Everything is so opinionated that the thread will almost be impossible to moderate.
IF you make a thread like this you might as well name it the fitment thread according to "username 1"
if "Username 1 " does not like it. its not insane, allstar, or whatever your going to call it. thus it wont belong in the thread...
just seems dumb to have two separate threads for the same shit. seriously.
this isnt
hellaflush

or canishit
so deal with it.
if people actually followed the rules of the orginal thread there would be no problem. what makes you think that the new thread wont be the same...

because it's going to be updated on a schedule....people aren't going to be able to post in it................
.........and if it's done the way I post it, it doesn't need an opinion...it can become reference.

i say this must be done, but as others have stated " no pics/specs, no post"
specs include wheel/tire size, camber, coils etc. from there you can PM the user specific questions instead of clutterring what should be the best thread ever with stupid monster trucking small wheeled cars.

In order for this to happen, we devise a streamlined plan. so far it seems as tho all we have is a list of complaints from the original thread and possible solutions for them.
ZX88...i thought of this too, but if it will not only be up to one user, it will be decided by the jedi council of wheel fitment.

Imo this thread will be pointless without VERY detailed specs on every single post.
For example: ~ All wheel specs + spacer specs
~ Ride height and how it was achieved (aka type of coilovers)
~ ALL fender mods..Even if its only "Pulled the F*^@k out of them until they were about to buckle".
~ ALL alignment specs
Mister.E
08-21-2010, 02:25 PM
Agree with the guy above, a list of things that must be required at a minimum:
- Wheel Size (Diameter & Width)
- Wheel Offset (Original wheel offset, then offset achieved if spacer is used)
- Tire Size
- Tire Brand
- Coilover Brand (and any mods made to coils, such as removing collars, etc.)
- Alignment Specs (Front and Back)
- Body Modifications (FRP Fenders, flattened metal, pulled metal, etc.)
- How flush is it? (Does it rub always, only on lock, under compression, etc)

I feel we should make it a "car of the week" or maybe even "day" layout. Where a set of dedicated admins can contact the person who won. They would then request all specs and in order to be eligible for the win, you must disclose all required info to achieve such stance.

The problem to be solved is getting the mods to see how many people actualy want this to happen.
In their eyes its just gonna be extra work, for no reason, but i believe they will be able to moderate The original fitment thread less since it will be turned more to people trying to get on the extreme thread, and
only really need to dedicate about 2 minutes a month to Lock and Unlock the new thread.

Definitley wont be adding any posts without specs. I think i did however save a few pics that were taken At events where it showed a line Of cars with great fitment. Just because they looked badass,
Like a motivational poster.
But if most prefer that even those not be shown without specs i can leave them out

This is a great idea! But again, mucho work for the mods. If a select few were allowed to do the postings, I think that would be ideal. And this list:
- Wheel Size (Diameter & Width)
- Wheel Offset (Original wheel offset, then offset achieved if spacer is used)
- Tire Size
- Tire Brand
- Coilover Brand (and any mods made to coils, such as removing collars, etc.)
- Alignment Specs (Front and Back)
- Body Modifications (FRP Fenders, flattened metal, pulled metal, etc.)
- How flush is it? (Does it rub always, only on lock, under compression, etc)
Would have to be absolutely mandatory for every pic/post.
Because the Fitment Thread has gone to shit with all the 4x4 status, I'm about to out these on my car, no specs posts; pictures.
It'd be like the "HellaFlush" of Zilvia lol.

I think it would work well, but it would require minimal work from the mods for it to happen. So whomever is picking out the cars should have the posts laid out all for the mods just to unlock, post, and then relock.
Agree with the guy above, a list of things that must be required at a minimum:

+ million invisi-rep for this.
Sounds like a solid outline. This type of thread is exactly what I had in Mind.
Is it possible for the mods to give Lock/Unlock duties to a specific user in a given thread?
If so we should have like a student body president that confers with the rest of the council and the edits the thread accordingly.

08-21-2010, 06:53 PM
they should just make a special mod group of the fitment gurus who only have permissions to mod the chat section with a focus on the fitment allstar thread. simple as that. it'll just take a tad of effort from the admin/s.

Being a kid, seeing good setups and shit is rad, but going through the other thread is such a pain because its one guy posting a bad setup, then another dude flaming him. the only fad from good fitment i see is hellaflush bullshit. cambered to the fucking max shit like that. good fitment has always been a nice part of making a car right. yeah, back in the beginning no one had access to spacers and shit, so not many people could deal with it unless the came up on perfect offset/width. but now, form > function?, fuck that. i would rather have sunken wheels that look like shit and have a purring motor that runs like it should rather than the other way around.

Gabe:
The Idea is a good ' Concept '.. But after discussion I have personally found out that alot of these ' Concepts ' go forward and then go downhill as fast as it became a popular idea.
We currently have a Wheel Fitment Thread, as you know already. There may be issues with this and after discussion with a fellow Moderator, we need to be alittle more proactive on cleaning that Thread up, and we will...
You also have to respect the other 240 owner's decision on what ' They ' consider there fitment and likes. Just because you do not like, it's still a Fitment. So what if it looks like ass .. It's not on your 240, so no worries...
I encourage the other Moderator's to please come in after I closed this and state your opinion on the matter was well...
Again, like I said, Great Idea ... But it has been done before with other threads and the Fail to Win Ratio is way leaning torwards Fail..
Sorry Gabe.
You have my permission.
As nice of it is of you to give your " Permission ", Teddy .. It will not pass as a point .. :whip:
You have to be kidding yourself if you think the mods on here give a shit about this.
You need to relax on your comments.
Just because you are pissed off at the world of warcraft, does not give you any right to puke your verbal vomit in this thread.
Figured you would have learned something from your prior run in with status change ...
ThatGuy

This is basically what the original idea of the current Wheel Fitment Thread was.
However, instead of reporting any violations to the guidelines of the Thread, most people just feel the need to post whore their own opinions and insults. That is the ultimate downfall of the Thread, not the pictures posted.
Specs are SUPPOSED to be posted.
Tires are SUPPOSED to be posted.
Fender Mods are SUPPOSED to be posted.
etc
etc
etc...
Also, who is to decide what is "worthy" of the new thread. Sounds to me like it would cause more of a headache then anything else. You know if the Thread was opened, there would be some butthurt kid starting another Thread bitching about not being good enough for your thread.
I will say, that we (The Moderation Team) will strive to clean up the current thread in a better fashion. For that though, we need your assistance. It takes less time and effort to report a post, than it does to post a slam against the offending individual.
Thank you for reading.
CrimsonRockett

100% agree with Barry.
The idea is great, but as Barry stated, that was the original idea of the wheel fitment thread.
There's absolutely no need for a thread dedicated to "real" wheel fitment when one already exists. If we allowed this to happen, what's stopping the maximum tire fitment people from requesting their own "real" maximum tire fitment thread? A "real" Kouki 180sx thread? A "real" two-tone thread? You can see where I'm going with this.
We're not here to cater to one specific group of people. Everybody is welcome.
Start giving a shit about the threads that currently exist. You yourself Gabe have been guilty of thread shitting/bashing in the wheel fitment thread on several occasions. We have a report button for a reason. Use it.
