Just installed my Koyo and my Black Magic fan and now my car won't shut off... grr.

I don't know if it's because of the fan or if my wiring got messed up when I was working on it.

Heres the deal. With my old fan and radiator, the fan had 2 wires, + and -, that's it. So I used a Radio Shack ignition relay so that it would run when the car was running. That relay had +12in, +12out, ignition in and ground out.

Now, with the black magic, the ignition relay is built-in. So, I hooked up +12, +12 with a circuit breaker, ground and ignition (or switched).

Now my car starts and runs beautifully, extra now with that weight off the water pump, but now it won't shut off.

HELP!

Extra Info:
89 Hatch, Redtop SR, wiring done by phase2.

Did the thing not come with instructions, you would think it did If you got it brand new. Sorry, just had to ask, I wish I could see a picture of what it looks like, Im more of a visual person.

Now the car won't start at all.

My clock is on, the seatbelts move, go to start it and nothing.

Trippy

Disconnect the fan, see what that does for you.

Im just as confused as you, I cant see that you did anything wrong, the only thing I can think of is that you had a short in the wiring somewhere and it blew a fuse. Just check all the fuses and wiring for shorts.

It does nothing.

I have everything apart now. Just going to tow it to phase2 I guess.

Probably going to pick up a battery relocation kit on the way there and get my battery out of the engine bay. Who knows what the problem up there is.

As I'm sure most SR people with GReddy/Blitz/HKS FMIC kits with batteries still in the bay will agree, there is no room up there to work which sucks, major. As well as it being a ROYAL PITA to hook up the terminals too.

Hell, for all I know it was just the terminals being loose, but I don't know for sure, so whatever.

I believe you initially wired the relay to the new fan incorrectly if your car won't shut off. That is a common effect when incorrectly wiring a relay to your 12+ switched ignition.

Now you say your car won't start? Do you hear any clicking sounds from the engine bay? You probably blew a fuse or a broken relay.
