Computer help,backup fires

So my girlfriends computer got a mean virus and i took it to get fixed.I got it back and the guys said they put everything on backup file.I turn the computer on and there's a folder that says shortcut to backup.My question is how do i restore all of that stuff

i did Google it,and there's a step that asks for me to click on backup......well its not there so I'm lost at this point since it doesn't give me the option

I just grab all the important or safekeep files and throw them onto a dvd or flashstick or something, pictures/mp3s/software/resumes/documents etc
