I searched up and people say the DOHC one is a direct bolt on when going to a s14, can anyone confirm this?
I'm using it for a 95 240sx without fogs, so 80 amp is fine (which the dohc s13 one is).
I know that the location of the power plug is different between s13 and s14 alternators, but is there any difference in the ring terminal itself? Are the pulleys the same for all dohc alternators (s13 and s14)?
Thanks!! BTW: Will a SOHC one work or are those under 80 amps?

Common anyone?
Can someone post a picture of a DOHC alternator?

Visually the plug on the S14 and S13 alternators look the same, just in different positions. As far as the ring terminal they look similar too, even if its too small you could drill out the center to make it fit. The SOHC is an 80 amp alternator, which is what I am running on my S13 DOHC.
Here's a pic of a S13 twin cam alternator

And here's a S14, its the very first one on the list.

So a SOHC one is the same as a DOHC? Aren't they pulleys different? When I put the SOHC one in my s14 I had to swap the pulleys from my s14 alternator because the SOHC one was completely different...I'm hoping the DOHC pulley is the same as the one used on the s14 alternator.
It's just the ring terminal was different between the SOHC alternator and the s14 alternator so I had to basically turn it upside down and tighten it, ghetto rigged and I don't trust it.
According to your site the SOHC and DOHC ones have the same ring terminal, but if you look at the 2nd pic I've attached the ring terminal on the s14 one is slightly different. (Just the black surround thing really)
*1st pic is the one shown for both dohc and sohc s13 models on the site listed above
*2nd pic is the s14 one

I have a s13 alternator in my s14... there is a nut you have to remove from where the main ground goes I think... if you don't remove this nut you will pop the main fuse. This happened to me. There might be an isulator piece that goes in there too that you have to swap from your s14 alternator.
Other than that it works fine.

^You didn't have to swap pulleys?
Oh that black rubber around the terminal? I don't think I swapped those...

^Nope... pulley worked fine for me. Pretty sure the pullies are the same.
Yes the black rubber around the terminal on the alternator.... I'd swap that piece over.

Ok thanks. Do you know if its from a SOHC or a DOHC?
