I received the electrical fans and the adjustable thermostat(activates at set temperatures not off a switch) from Heavythrottle.com over the weekend. I’m having a little problem w/the wiring.

There are 6 wires I’ll have to wire up from the thermostat, I’m having a problem with the yellow and red one.

Orange & Blue: wired to (+) fans
Black: Ground
Green: (instructions suggest to attach to positive wire on air conditioning clutch) since my s13 redtop doesn’t have A/C, I will not wire this up.

Red: wire to battery ***********My battery is relocated to the trunk and I don’t know where else I can tap this wire to. Plus, the wire that runs from the engine bay to the positive terminal of the battery is very thick and don’t want to splice into that)

Yellow: Attach to ignition switched 12-volt source.*************I don’t know which wire I can splice this into and where I can find it********

I’ve seen people just tap these wires into their fuse box. Is this something you can recommend?? Basically, I just need to know where I can wire both the yellow and red wire.

Tap on your accessory lead on any device in the engine bay that turns on when the key is on the first click (accessory).

Tap to the main power (battery power) by either running a very long (fused) wire from the battery OR better yet, if you still have your main battery connection in the engine bay, tap into it there. Again, anything you tap from the main battery connection MUST be fused as close to the power source as possible.

As for the activation switch, I never used a positive lead to activate my e-fans. Instead, I activated my fans through ground. I used the OEM thermoswitch to open or close the ground circuit. So basically, when the system reached 200° the fans would activate until the thermoswitch would re-open.
