my head lights got all those lines in it, i was wondering if there was a way i could sand them down smooth so they wouldnt be there anymore. I know ppl have taken the "nipples" off of their head lights. Anyways if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

The glass or plastic lenses are "fluted" which is the angled surfaces molded onto the inside surface and it is designed to refract the light and spread it evenly to illuminate the road in front of you. If you remove the fluting your headlights will basically just become fog lights and suck ass at illuminating the road at any distance. If you want clear lenses, get housings with clear lenses OEM, like the German Zenki housings assuming you are talking about the Zenki S14.

sand them from inside

You wont be able to sand the ones from an m30 off, iirc they are glass lenses, so sanding will not work, and even if they were plastic sanding the flutes off the inside of the lenses would not work properly, you may get some of them out, but the lens will never look right due to the fact that the plastic is molded with the flutes. I'm sure somewhere out there someone has made clear lenses.

I don't know about your M30 but on an S14

German glass headlights + HIDs = win:

german glass headlights still have flutes in them, they just look clearer because they're glass. not that it matters on an M30, though i bet if the OP looks hard enough he could find a foreign market or aftermarket option. i'd try a forum that has a bigger M30 community. but sanding or removing flutes on the stock lights = bad idea.

They are glass and unless i go to japan im probably not gonna find anything aftermarket for an m30. Like i said ill just retro fit some projectors if thats what i gotta do.

you know people will ship things to you from there, right? you don't have to travel to japan yourself. still, you'll need something aftermarket.

projectors won't make things any better. what are you trying to accomplish anyway?

make a mold of the headlights, make a vacuum table, get lexan and make headlight covers, people have done it for s14 clear covers.

side note, the bulb, reflector, and lens work together as a system. if you change one, it will screw up the beam. if you're putting clear lenses on, you'll need projectors too. you mentioned projectors, but it sounded like you were going to do just that. do everything all at once. it'll be a pain in the ass, but the end result should be pretty cool.

I'll just leave this here in case anyone whats to know how to sand 'plastic' flutes off the inside of their headlights Clear Headlight Lens - JZX World Forums (http://www.jzx100.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=294)

I just brought clear lenses for mine but as soon as you swap them and get rid of the fluted glass it messes up the light pattern, so this is what I did to mine Legline? | DSD32 | Automotive & Photography Blog (http://dsd32.wordpress.com/2009/12/18/legline/)
