Cops stopped by house regarding my 240!!

so i was heaving breakfast when my mom got me and said theres a cop outside looking for you about your car. Few weeks ago i just got a ticket from parking enforcement and last week i got pulled for not having front license plate installed properly. I dropped what i was eating and ran outside thinking this is about my LP again. My 240 does not have rear interior and FMIC is nothing but hidden. Its not fully modded but it does not look stock at all and always parked outside with 2 cars blocking it. So here goes this middle aged asian cop with his big ass smile on his face.
cop: is this your car?
me: yes..... sir.:hide:
cop: are you selling it?
me: no sir:confused:
cop: what do you have in it?
me: its stock..
cop: common! I could careless about it, dont worry. I just sold my MR2 and i wann buy your car.

so converasation went on, your car is clean blah blah...my mr2 blah blah.. until he got me to say yes it has sr20 red top.:duh: so what are you gonna impound my car now? he said "no, I really wanna buy it. how much?" it not for sale and it doesnt run right thats why i dont daily it. (car runs smooth and i daily it)lol
its been 3 hours and theres no tow truck yet. so was this cop cool or what!

When i first bought my s13 i was a 7/11 in west covian a cop parked next to me. Him and his Partner got out and asked what i had in it. I told them a sr20 one of the cops was like nice but i can see you go a long road ahead of you in that car. I was like yeah its going to be hard to get it nice again. Then i told them that there was going to be one less sr20 240 in SoCal. They both said thank you and we ended up bull shitting for 30-40 min about cars.

I am the same way no need to be a tool. My last 240 had no cat also and i never once got pulled over when i was living in Redondo Beach. I would drive by and they would look and keep going. People just dont understand how it works. You drive like a dumb ass your going to get treated like a dumb ass.

You can do whatever you want for a car you use for the track, but for daily use, they have restrictions. It all has to do with air emissions, and bla bla bla. There's just a fat-ass long list of rules and other stuff you have to abide by.

Not all swaps are illegal out there. I believe LSx, VQ35 & VH45 swaps are still legal there... I think.

Why because of emission laws. They do work. Fact is most smog stuff on the stock engine do not rob it of much horsepower either. Any idiot removing his smog equipment thinking he is gaining power is an idiot.

Now like was said earlier certain swaps are legal . For all of the idiots that keep on saying shit without checking the laws who I have had to correct in the past I will say it again.

Any engine from any RWD car sold in the U.S. the same year as your car or newer is a legal swap(as long as you keep all smog equipment that engine came with. Not a truck engine a car engine! That mean LSX, VQ35,VQ37 VH45,VH56, etc....

Problem is most of the people who do these swaps manage to not do completely legally conversions. If you do a completely legally conversion and take it a state ref. You can certify it and then run it and do the regular smog checks for that engine.

Oh and in case most of you are wondering yes SR's are clean burning and usually pass smog on the tailpipe. They just do not pass visual and because they were never sold in a RWD configuration in the U.S. means they are Federally illegal.

Regardless of if a state enforces it or not running a SR is straight up a violation of federal law.

so any of you out of state guys that think you are legally running a SR in your state well technically your wrong.

Stop being an apologist. If the goal is to improve the environment and stop pollution, they why should an engine that passes Tail-Pipe testing, but "fails visual" be illegal or cause any one grief.
