Ok so long story short these bolts are on there so tight i could swear they are welded on. We put a ratchet on the man crank pulley and it literally loosened the nut on the pulley and no matter what we do the crank seems to just keep spinning. Any ideas what we can do other than spraying wd 40 on the bolts because we've been there and done that.

Buy an electric impact wrench It's like $30 and will twist those bolts right out. At least that's how I did it.

We used a air impact gun and i almost laughed because it didn't even tickle the bolts, lol

I used a snap on impact on every flywheel bolt Ive ever taken off/put on and it has never been a problem.

Well i tried everything which includes using a pry bar, air gun, and it just keeps spinning the crank or not moving the bolts an ass hair.

thread a transmission bolt into the top right hole above the starter holes and get a 8mm socket and put it between the bolt and one of the flywheel teeth.
crank the flywheel left so the socket gets jammed against the tooth and the bolt thats in the back of the motor.
put a big breaker bar on it and break that shit loose
that better make sense because i dont feel like making a ms paint masterpeice

im surprised no one has b----ed about op not searching.
oh and yes, do what ^ said.

Now these are the kind of ideas i made this thread for.... I shall try this, sounds like it should work if i can get the socket to jam.

I know I'm shocked too, I did search but all i found was a thread someone started about breaking bolts and how to get them out.

what i said will work as long as you can find a socket thats like 3/8ths drive and deepwell thats an 8 or maybe a 10mm.
has to be wide enough on 1 end to catch on the bolt...but has to be small enough on the other end to catch the tooth.

If you have tried an impact and it's a no go. Go do yourself a favor and purchase one of those $20 buck propane torches from like home depot or walmart or whatever, If I have a really stuck bolt I just hit it with the torch for like two mins, that will break any threadlocker/corrosion then hit it with either impact or what ever other wrench you have.

or just man up with a breaker bar + a long jack handle

this is the way i do it and it works everytime.

worse comes to worse i will have to bust out the torch.

believe me its been done and all we did was end up loosening the crank pulley bolt and spinning it regardless

yeah breaker bar is the way to go sometimes you just need to muscle that shit! and jamming the socket works ive used that method plenty of times
or if you good at fabing you can try this

Which impact gun? They are all not created equal? A lot of "kit" impacts suck.

I use the above method as well but I just use a block of wood instead of a good tool. Works like a charm.

So what you're saying is i should use a standard socket and not a metric one, lol.

Are you guys serious!!!!????
What kind of half-assed methods are you guys throwing this kids way?!?
Ok, first of all, you must be using a mega cheap electric impact or some sort of ancient air gun. Even the cheaper airguns pack enough power to snap the flywheels bolts right off! Yes, it will snap them right off. If the bolts where too tight to come off, it would just snap the head of the bolt right off. It works the other way too. It will tighten them to the point where it will snap the bolts that way too. Now if they where stripped, that would be a horse of a different color. But, if they are just too tight, that's not really a problem.
So, the point i am trying to make is that if you are using the proper tool, those bolts will come right off.
Use a proper pneumatic impact gun with a proper compressor with sufficient air pressure and SHAZZAAAM!!! Your all set.
Good Luck. :)

I always just barely thread two of the pressure plate bolts back into the flywheel on opposite sides.
Then you brace some kind of metal bar so that the bar is flat against the flywheel, and one side of the metal bar is on top of a bolt, and another side is on the bottom of a bolt.
Then turn the flywheel so that the end of the metal bar hits the ground. Done. Your flywheel ain't goin anywhere when you try to crank on them. Then socket wrench+ridiculously long cheater bar and they come off just fine for me (unless I break a ratchet guhhh). If the engine is rocking too much, have a couple buds sit on it for ya.

heat it up and use a different 1/2in impact. also change out the rear main incase it melts =)

Yup. I had the same problem. I was using the cheapest HF air gun, wouldn't even bulge the nuts. Tried heating up the bolts, using a breaker bar...I was freakin the hell out cause it was my 1st clutch change and I was doing it by myself..didnt want to break or round off the nuts.
Solution? Picked up a better gun from HF for $45, took all of 10 seconds to get them off :werd:
