ok well i have a s13 and i have been having ALOT of thumping and vibration in my steering wheel since ive had this car. i have doen many things to try and fix it or get rid of it or at least suppress it.
i am currently rolling on tenabe pro coilovers, things i have replaced..

rack and pinion with new oem rack.
old rack bushing with poly bushings.
poly transmission mount(poly motor mounts soon to come)
tightend steering colum bolts under dashboard. (i think there is only 4 of them)
anything else you guys could point me to would be pretty awsome willing to try everything.

Have you checked out the tension rod bushings?

Lower control arm bushings?

Have you checked out the wheel bearings?

Did you do a 5 lug conversion? What company hubs did you use?

1) i have OEM Tension rods,i have the poly ones ready to go but i have to mod them because i had them before and i encounterd little a problem(to fing big).
2)the lower control arm bushings i am not sure i know i need new ball joints in the front..'
3) no 5 lug stock set up.
although i will be getting adjustable rods and such on my car.
correct me if i am wrong.. but the steering colum is connected to the dashboard support behind the dash right??. .

Sounds like you should replace those ball joints in the LCA before you did anything else.

Are the boots torn? Are they dried out?

I never replaced mine on my first car and my shit knocked around everywhere.

Get that done before you buy or spend any more money on anything.
