help...rear brake piston doesn't go back in

so i was changing my rear pads and couldn't press the piston back in after installing new pads. i ended up disconnected the brake line and unscrew the bleeder and it still doesnt move at all no matter how hard i press it.

please help.

turn it (spin it)! use needle nose pliers

be careful when u screw the piston back in, if you slip it's pretty easy to ruin a caliper... my friend did it twice, lol:doh:

There are companies that actually make special tools for this procedure. You need to turn it while you push it in.

yeah i just did pads and rotors today on mine and one of them was already pretty jacked up. took a while but i got it in.

yeah in my opinion its a hassle just to do the rear breaks. i got the special tool, its just a box for a 3/8 ratchet and has pins that stick out. its fits into the groove, but its still not that easy to turn in. last time i did it i slit the caliper boot. no fluids came out so i guess its fine? hahaha. stupid design:hammer:

Well, sounds like now is a good time to upgrade to the rear Z32 brakes. :)

hehe jk, use needle nose pliers.. how can you messup, come on guys. Loosen the bleeder valve, push and turn the caliper. The hardest part about the job is re-seating the pads and shims, thats a mess.

Thank god for all-around Z brakes.
