Hey guys I’m a long time lurker first time poster with a few questions that I could not find using the search bar.
First off I live on Prince Edward Island, Canada, to make it easier for any sugestions on where to shop for parts you may have.I do not own a 240sx yet but i'm planning on picking up a S14 after I do some more homework and am comfortable with the results.
When I do get one I am planning to eventually swap a SR20DET red top in and i'm wondering what is the most cost effective way to do this? I can get a spotless front clip including dash for $3453.28 or an Engine/Trans combo that includes:
Complete Motor
Complete Head and Block
Intake Manifold
Injectors
Fuel Rail
Power Steering Pump
Throttle Body
Exhaust Manifold
Alternator
Turbo
Starter
5 Speed Transmission
for about $1500 less (this is the price to my doorstep for both)
I was thinking the clip would be better as i wouldn't have to buy the intercooler, ECU and other little bits and pieces I’d need and I’d be able to sell the extra parts after the swap.
Also is there clearance problems with the turbo piping and the steering components on the 240sx? when I look at pictures of the front clip i noticed that there is a lot of piping on the left hand side, will I have to modify the piping anyway? or will it fit fine?
Thanks in advance!
