Any more news on the hacked mafs working out well for some people or being the cause of detonation for your turbo application?

Mine was fine at 4.35psi and ~6psi with no intercooler...
With the intercooler it was fine for ~6psi, and even 8psi for the last 2 months. But recently, the blinky A/F gauge has begun to show a little more towards the lean side of things. I swapped in a new KA (my previous one had a blown piston from detonation [too much timing], but I replaced the piston. It still had piston slap, and was getting annoying so...) and want some reliability out of it on track event days...
I ran with the stock ECU for the last week and the speed limiter sucks...as does the lower rev limit. But the A/F looked better, and it naturally had less timig programmed in then my JWT N/A ECU...so it was safer.
Anyway, my plugs were showing a little lean after the swap...and I was already running an N/A upgrade - So I just called JWT up and have a turbo chip coming tommorrow for $100. So now I have timing control under boost and compensation for the 370cc injectors...can't complain.
Now AceInHole is the only guy running the 'Hacked MAF'...

Thanks for the info. I just read a thread Ace started and his setup was running well at his last track event so that's another plus.:D

nope :D
but i can't say anything for now as i haven't tested the car all out yet. Only did a couple of udner 3000rpm runs with the wastegate open (eg no boost). But for those runs the a/f gauge steadily gave a reading on the border of stoich and rich. And i'm using the same concept but a little different setup. I'll post sometime later when i finally get into boost and fix all the crap (like the master cylinder bs).

That was exaclty my issue. So I pulled the plugs and they told the story: White = Lean.
Not good at 8psi with lots-o-timing advance...
Keep us updated.

hmm weird... i pulled my plugs when i first started up the car and my plugs were white too. i blamed it on being like that before... guess i have to put some restriction in there to reduce alternative air flow and see what happens then.

My plugs are white and I have no turbo. I thought they were always going to be like that until they were out of commission.
