Alright so when I bought my 92 coupe the fuel gauge didn't work. It's got an S14 SR in it if that makes any difference. The idiot light works but the gauge doesn't and I am quite sick of not knowing how much fuel I have.
Anyone else have this problem? If you did, how'd you fix it? I don't wanna go ripping apart things that don't need to be touched.
Any help is appreciated!

well it might be the fuel floater sensor in the fuel tank

True, but the idiot light still works?

what about the wires from behind the cluster
The idiot light has a sensor independent of the floater. When you look at the fuel pump assembly, there is a small silver cylinder with three or four tiny holes on the bottom that has a single wire connected to it. That is the sensor for the idiot light. The floater has its own independent sensor and wire.

Yes. This.
Check the signal wire too!
