driving during rush hour, a bunch of people stopped quickly over a hill. i stopped ok, and then got hit from behind by a taxi, and then HE got hit by a brand new RAV4, driving me into the car ahead of me.

the RAV4 was toast. the taxi - slightly mangled. my car? only a scuff on the bumper! :D what a freaking TANK!!!! i got hit HARD too.

my concern is that my insurance company may see this as a reason to raise my rates even though i was 100% not at fault, and i don't have to make a claim or anything. anyone have any experience with stuff like this? should i tell my insurance company right away? or should i not tell them - and hope that they don't find out about it? i've never gotten in any kind of accident before so i'm not sure what i have to do.

Did you exchange insurance info with the person you got pushed into the back of. (the car in front of you)?

the guy in front of me had no insurance, a suspended license, and it wasn't his car. the car i hit had absolutely no damage either.

The insurance company has no reason to raise your rates. The accident was clearly not your fault. The taxi wil be at fault, and the Rav-4 will be at fault for ramming into cars in front of them. I was in a three car accident back in April and the insurance company of the kid who caused the accident paid $6000 to fix the van, and $1600 to fix my car. Insurance companies for the taxi service. and the insurance company that covered the Rav-4 will pay for damages caused by each car.

you insurance will raise because you didn't leave enough distance between you and the car in front of you... SUX TO BE YOU!!

no idea why you feel like being such a :ghey:. the taxi made contact with my bumper, pushing me about half a car length. then when the toyota hit him, it pushed the taxi and me further, but since the taxi already was contacting my bumper, the only thing that happened was some scuffing from where it got pushed in.

but i'm done with this now.
