Question about Cali registration need answers asap please!

So my red temp tag expires on July 31st i've got an RB in my 40 and I need at least a week or 2 before my smog goes thru, I was wondering if I were to go and transfer the car in my brothers name, he lives with me, would they issue him a temp tag thru the end of august, or would they not since he is family and in the same house hold, I just need a one month tag, does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure they only give you a 30 day tag if it has failed smog.

if its your second temporary permit, then they might give it to you for free.

if not, you have to pay like 50dllrs to get a second permit. and you can only get two permits.

before you can live off of permits, but because of that, dmv got anal about it.

and yeah, "selling/transfering" to your bro who lives in the same address and all might be a little fishy...but then again im no dmv employee so what do i know :faint:
