So I just got a motorset from a local guy along with the harness, but looks like I'm missing a few plugs, so I was hoping with so many people running SR, that I could be helped.

I have a S13 redtop SR which is in a S14, 1995.

Most everything is done except two or three plugs. I will take a picture and post it to see what it looks like.

Well,
found out someone else did the wiring, but I haven't been able to translate what's been done on his wiring.

Here are the pictures..

f3 plug.

Main thing I have a question about is the black wire with red stripe.. whoever did the damn wiring just left it hanging.. From what I've read, it's the main ignition power wire, but to me it means shit.. I have no clue about wiring.

Sammy is the person who did the wiring, hence the text in the pics.
I stuck a lead directly from the starter and cranked her and no luck. Just cranks and cranks.

#2: if you see the first pic, you can see a small piece of wire coming from the wrapped harness, blue with white stripe, what's that supposed to be?

I was thinking about just getting Wiring Specialties harness for both engine and tranny, but if I can get this working.. I'd rather save that $350, ya know!

1. Main ignition power. Needs to go the F3 plug.

2. Part of the AC. Not needed.

I suggest getting Wiring Specialties. If you don't know anything about wiring it would be near impossible to try to figure out what was done previously.

no, its coming out of the f3plug with a spade end on the end of the wire.

thought the 2nd wire would be AC stuff.. i'll need to hook it up sooner or later..

main ignition power, so it should get 12v?

I can't tell by the pic but that does not look like an OEM connector, looks just like some sort of crimp on connector. The previous owner could have chosen any color wire to make this. So don't just go by the wire color, remove the tape and verify where it goes.

I did check it and I re-soldered and shrink wrapped it.
one wire goes into the harness then another into the f3 plug.
so you could say it was tee'ed off.

Pin #38 needs to get b+ power to it, if you wire it to the ignition that's one way. I would run it from ignition with a hidden switch then to ECM. Or Battery, fuse, wire to switch, and to #38 on ECM

any time you see wiring like this, I would pay that 350 for a new harness having the peace of mind it's turnkey and that your engine will be running @ 100 percent electronically. Because when the engine doesn't work 100 percent electrically, it will cause problems mechanically which will cost you way more than 350 in the end.

here is your hint... have a good day.

^i see.. I'm gonna deloom and see where the the other parts of the wire goes to.. It's tee'd off and I see one coming out with the spade end and one end going into the f3 then last end disappearing into the harness.. I'll post back. I may just get the WS harness for peace of mind if I can't get this working but it's a good chance to learn for me too.

If all else fails, WS harness!

Welp,
Hooked everything up last night (minus thatone wire) and cranked her and she sputtered and shut off.
I'm assuming I fouled the plugs so I just let her sit for a bit and will be trying to start her again tonight...

gotta hook up the o2 sensor too, previous owner just left 3 wires from the skinny o2 hanging there.
