I am tired of having a tach that isnt calibrated to read the rb anymore. so i ventured out and bought an autometer autogage tach w shift light.:bash:

I am in need of a lil bit of help regarding wiring up my autometer 5" tach. I bought the autometer tach adapter 9117 to use with it also.
i know the gray wire on the adapter connects to the green wire on the tach.
the black wire is obviously the ground.
The red/grn wire should connect to ecu pin 7 which is the tach
and then the red wire should connect to....pin 1 which is ign power to cyl 1.

this is how i have interpretted this at least...yet..i cant get a signal read on the tach. and yes i am getting signal at all the appropriate ecu spots according to my voltmeter...and the brown wire on the back of the tach has been clipped to read for a 6 cyl.

i am stumped.

why would you buy one of those ugly big ass ricer tachometers? the stock tach can be adjusted to read a 6 cyl signal. all Nissan tachs have an adjuster screw on the back, you just need to wire the tach outside of the cluster and get a multi meter that reads rpms then match the 2. free and oem
