I came up on a very sweet deal, a running s13 for only 800 bucks!

The down side is it needs a good amount of TLC, but now I have something to do with my summer.

Here is the aforementioned issue:

This white paint is all over the place, even on the vents on the dash. Anyways. I was thinking of just buying some new panels, but thought i'd use this as an opportunity to learn me some interior skills by removing this nasty ass paint and perhaps fitting some nice black fabric.

--Whats a good product and technique for removing this paint while preserving the material? Brand names along with testimonials are a plus!

Thanks Zilvia

You can use easy-off oven cleaner on the plastic radio trim panel. Keep an eye on it as it will melt the plastic if you let it sit too long. I've used easy-off oven cleaner to remove paint on the little plastic car models.

Sorry, but I don't know anything to remove the paint on the door panels.

if you don't mind working it off, use scotch bright pads or sand paper.
that's how i strip and prep all the pieces i mod.

i would say some light, possibly diluted with water, paint remover thats safe on plastics. If not, sand it down or 000 steel wool, then wet sand with a fine grit like 1000, and repaint black if u want

for the door panels, you should just buy them, mine were cloth so idk about yours

You'd be surprised what you can do with your girlfriends nail polish remover.

Oh and, i'm not sure if its safe for plastic and what not but check if the canned paint stripper is. because that shit works instantly.

^^i doubt it...it will probably melt the plastic since its so fucking strong.

thats why you dilute it with water or a base. shouldnt mineral spirits work?

you could lightly blast them with glass beads, plastic media, walnut hulls or baking soda. They use baking soda to strip paint from fiberglass panels on vettes so they don't destroy the surface under the paint.
